We talked about that film and co-star Richard Gere, plus her childhood acting days when she appeared on "The Partridge Family" and in the Raquel Welch film: "Kansas City Bomber." One thing about Jodie Foster is that this woman is a true friend & a loyal human. She was the first person to contact Rob Lowe following his sex tape scandal & went out of her way, going against the producers by getting him cast for a role in Contact (1997), when his acting career was plummeting. She was the one to straighten out Robert Downey Jr. regarding his addiction issues and wrote him an empowering letter (which he mentions in this conversation) while he was in jail & rehabs. Of all his actions, she always stood by Mel Gibson as a friend without condoning his actions. She was the only public figure to defend Kristen Stewart after she was thrust into a maelstrom of hatred following her affair with a married director. Jodie Foster is one remarkable woman, who's cinematic legacy is unparalleled, but also, whose cultural impact is undeniable even if people don't want to acknowledge it. I'm beyond shocked she hasn't received the AFI Life Achievement Award & Kennedy Centre Honours yet.
