John Ritter a superlative talent. Passing away just 6 days shy of 55. It's an honor to be remembered as Jack Tripper. Jack Tripper was one of my heroes.

I remember that like it was yesterday. He died on Sept. 11, 2003, his youngest son's 5th birthday, and his wife Amy's birthday was the next day on the 12th.

John Ritter is one of the VERY few famous actors that got away with maintaining a clean image with no dark stories or accusations of being either a drunk, drug addict, child pervert or sex fiend or some form of asshole. This is almost unheard of for an actor of his fame.

I took to rewatching Three's Company lately, I hadn't seen it since the 80s and there is something very special about it. I think Mrs. Roper got the best lines! All the roles were perfectly cast

Exhibit A of only the good...damn GOOD die young! :( 19 yrs later still miss this legend. Pulsating charisma, charm, likability, TALENT. Yes, even w/ the smack talk from the critics w/ the writing etc..he was that stellar on 3s Company! Handful of episodes were kind of crap lol but the good-great ones I could watch (& have watched) 10000s of times. At only 54! this guy should've had 20+ yrs more of an amazing career! 0 doubt we would've gotten that reunion w/ the 3 OG characters :(....

He already had subtle signs of the heart disease, which you can see, if you have it ( i do) . including indigestion, and his voice is losing strength. By ten yrs later, he looked very sick, and was gone at 55. People were in denial. He should have been in hospital, NOT on a soundstage !!!

@tmclaughlin11

@@trawlins396Indeed. It was formulaic - almost every episode featured a character hearing part of a conversation - hence the “comic misunderstanding” angle. It was still funny though and John was immensely talented as a comedic actor as well as for his physical comedy. He seemed like a nice guy by all accounts, too. Taken from us far too early.
