Hey everyone, some important stuff here! I would appreciate it if you could read this before commenting: ⬩ This video is way way WAY too long, sorry about that. Going forward I'll limit videos like this to 6 perks, I just didn't realize how long it would take to describe and rework 10 perks in one go. ⬩ For some reason my brain shorted out on Fast Track: I didn't do a good job of explaining what the real issue with the perk is, which is it relying on your team getting hooked/dying. ⬩ I stand by these changes and it's important to remember that some of the perks shown here are among the worst in the game. That being said, not exactly "in love" with Iron Grasp & Overwhelming Presence. I'd like to revisit them at some point. Thanks for your continued support! 💕

BHVR need to add a lot more custom options for customs games. The playerbase of this game has so many good and wacky ideas for the game, but never get to explore or express them properly. If they were just given the tools to do so, there would be no limit to the stuff we'd be seeing

As someone who uses Hoarder a lot with Human Greed, this is a very interesting change, I would make it also show the aura of open chests to make it not have an anti-synergy with Human Greed. Also very nice video
@latenightnomad
@latenightnomad 20 сағат бұрын
That's a really good point that I'll have to be more mindful of. I knew Human Greed & Hoarder had some synergy together but I kind of glossed over it without thinking how this rework would affect that. Even if a perk isn't used much, I shouldn't just act like it doesn't exist haha I 100% agree with your idea so the perks don't "counter" each other. Thank you for taking the time to give your feedback, I'll definitely remember this going forward :)

Killer perk idea(Not sure how to balance): Rusted machinery The entity gave the job to maintaining the trials machinery, yet you chose to actively ignore those commands Whenever you kick a generator that generator will have a -15% repair speed penalty, can only affect one generator at a time. When exit gates are powered following effect activates. Whenever a survivor stops opening an exit gate it will regress overtime. Upto a maximum of 10/15/20% of its current charge. Thanks for the video.
@latenightnomad
@latenightnomad 5 сағат бұрын
This is pretty creative and balance wise it's pretty good! I think if it affected more than one generator at a time it'd be a problem, but this basically prevents you from kicking other gens while it's active, so I don't think it'd be a problem. Thank you for the comment and sharing your idea!

Increasing lunge speed effectively increases its range as well, because going faster in the same amount of time gives you more distance. You'd have to reduce the distance to compensate for the speed increase if you want the same effective range.

Great video! The first hoarder idea essentially means that survivors use up toolboxes right away, and use flashlights in their first chase, and medkits at the first availability, since that way when a chargeless item is stolen, there's no need to go looking for it and having your time wasted and aura revealed. Since chests start open, it'll be evident that you have hoarder before the first hook, too. Basically it punishes map users the most, but no one uses maps anyway. Still better than current hoarder, but probably worse than franklin's.

I really like better than new, but dont forget that it can stack with itself, a 60% increased speed to non-gen actions is crazy good (btw you can stack the perk rn if another survivor picks up a downed survivor with the perk and then you heal them with the perk)

the changes on the primary effects where good but the secondary effects makes them quite overpower if those changes where real everyone would be running those perks for how fat and staked they are it is like 2 3 perks in to one, perks only need secondary effects when the effect is too niche on his own or has minimum effect on the match

Stupidly good video. Do have a few suggestions. From experience I believe having perks that don’t communicate to all party’s well can be annoying. I feel like there should be a way to know someone is buffed by BTN, maybe just a little icon whenever you hit them to let you know they lost half. I LOVE the first hoarder idea. Iron grasp is also amazing. Shattered hope is also still my favorite you have made. Finally I would kill for the unrelenting change. Overall amazing video and I can’t wait to see the next 🗣️🔥

I like the changes to unrelenting the increased lunge speed will have some uses when trying to hit a survivor before they drop a pallet and this combined with the primary attack cooldown reduction will buff lunging towards the edge of a cliff to start falling faster. Especially the falling faster thing their are way too few killer perks that do anything with going down just this and the thunder lunge perk I 🤔
@latenightnomad

Another idea for unrelenting would for it to have a minor alien instinct effect. Like whiffing a hit grants you 10% Haste for three seconds if there is a survivor within 16 metres. But this effect stacks depending on the amount of survivors, so the speed boost will last for 12 seconds if all survivors are within 16m when missing an attack.
@latenightnomad
@latenightnomad 13 сағат бұрын
You know honestly at first I wasn't too keen on the idea but the more I thought about it, the more I like it. Although it still may not be enough, I added that weird lunge secondary effect because a perk that revolves entirely around missing would be on the weaker end. Fun idea though, very creative. And thanks for taking the time to comment!

I would use that version of Unrelenting if it was in the game, my favourite perks have always been the ones that either make the frustrating things less frustrating like Enduring or the ones that make actions faster like Brutal Strength or Bamboozle (I've gotten so used to Brutal Strength that pallet breaks in Chaos Shuffle were unbearably slow) so recovering faster after breaking a lock as Dredge would make me enjoy playing it way more than I already enjoy it.

@TigerKirby215
@TigerKirby215 15 сағат бұрын
imo: *Better Than New:* Making it permanent is risky, but it could absolutely get higher values. I think having the buff get cut in half when a survivor gets hit makes sense, but there should be an upper limit of how many times it can be cut. Maybe 3 times? *Hoarder:* The "your item goes into a chest" idea should go to a different perk that doesn't interfere with chest spawns. Removing the range limit is good though, and having it work when an item is consumed or when a special addon is used like a Brand New Part or Instaheal makes it a lot more useful and gives it utility alongside Weave Attunement. *Desperate Measures:* Agree with everything said here, but I do think you have to consider that Desperate Measures has the niche utility of increasing healing speeds without increasing medkit consumption. This barely matters (just bring Bandages 4head) but it's still noteworthy. *Iron Grasp:* Interesting conceptually. I'd like to see this tested. *Fast Track:* Agree with everything here. The fact Fast Track works off Great skill checks (rather than being a simple toggle) is what makes the perk bad. It feels awful to spend 3 tokens on a generator in the middle of nowhere to get 3% extra progress, or inversely to never be able to hit a Great on the gen you need to finish. *Overwhelming Presence:* Hot take: OP is actually a good perk. It's just that it'll never impact toolboxes (toolboxes are used up at the start of the game) and there are better perks to counter medkits (Sloppy, Clownphobia, No Quarter) and flashlights (Lightborn), and like... why are you countering maps or keys (Blood Amber excluded)? Also another big problem is that Franklin's Demise does Overwhelming Presence's job infinitely better. All that being said I like your rework as a way to counter early gen rushing. *Rookie Spirit:* I like the ideas you present but instead of a flat generator speed boost "until you stop repairing the generator", give the perk a BIG repair speed boost "until it stops regressing." (IE when you get past the 5% missing progress.) This makes it a great perk to stop generators from regressing and generally get more coordination in soloqueue, and also gives it a use in a SWF to stop generators from regressing if you can quickly get to it while a friend is being chased. *Shattered Hope:* Ehhhhh still poopy, but it's about the best you could get with such an awful design. *Self-Preservation:* It's a risky perk to buff and it's really strong in pro play. I do like making the range global (or at least larger) to make it easier to use in soloqueue, since often when playing solo players don't know to take bodyblock hits. The additional effect is cool in concept but risks being broken. *Unrelenting:* Increasing lunges in any way is risky. I'm not saying it's a bad change; rather it's risky as a whole. I do agree with the QoL change of making it work when hitting the environment so killers like Dredge can use it in the same way Huntress uses Iron Maiden. Overall a very good video regardless! I love these types of discussions, and you certainly earned a subscription!

Thank you for the kind words (and the sub!) I want to respond to everything but I'll try and spare you an essay and just respond to a few, haha: - I want to like Overwhelming Presence but for me it feels very underwhelming. I don't think a lot of people realize how small a 24 or 32 metre terror radius is in comparison to the rest of the map, so it's very hard to "feel" when you're getting value from the perk. That's why I took it in the direction I did, but I'm not in love with this version so I may revisit it at some point in the future ^^ - I actually considered doing that for Rookie Spirit! Another idea was to reduce the % required to stop the generator from regressing. Like going from 5% to 3/2.5/2%, bringing it down a lot but not enough to bring back old gen tapping. - Agree 100% about Unrelenting. I feel like I missed the mark with adding a secondary effect, I just really felt I had to add something since the % miss reduction isn't enough to make the perk worth it on its own. Ty again for the feedback!

theres probably already a perk that does this, but i think a better and more fitting way to buff unrelenting than giving a lunge boost would be to give a haste effect for 5-10 seconds when a survivor escapes a chase, which is canceled if the killer is in chase with another survivor or enters one at any point during it's duration. also the lunge boost would probably bring back that one issue where killers used to be able to move faster by repeatedly lunging

I should have mentioned it in the voiceover (still getting used to the whole "commentary" thing) but I added a small cooldown to Unrelenting to prevent the lunge abuse thing from happening :p I like your idea for Unrelenting a lot! My Idea for a Better than new rework would be turning into a temporaly shield for negative status effect perk that would work like this: After healing a survivor, the perk stay active on them for a certain timer. I had actually picked Visionary originally for this video, but ended up scrapping it since I wasn't too confident in the idea. I'll share it with you since you mentioned it! - The basic idea was to increase the range and remove the weird cooldown it has. - I'd give it a Leader/Streetwise AoE effect so you can reveal generators to your teammates as well, mainly for solo queue on indoor maps like Hawkins. - I had an idea(?) where it would become stronger after a generator was completed and reveal the aura of the most progressed generator for 10/15/20 seconds. Basically removing the cooldown and turning it into a window where the perk gets a small buff.

I don't fully agree with hoarder change. I think the changes should stay to 3 additional chests, longer aura reveal, and infinite range. Yes j like the idea of the survivors losing their item and having to go to their assigned chest to open it. However this is basically two perks in one and I think it'd be better off for that to be a new perk intirely.

The better than new idea is still for the most part useless , the numbers are still worst than leader , tbh if it doenst affect gen speed in any form it will always be bad just like leader is , the fact that its a worst leader that is harder to activate with inferior numbers will always make it useless All desperate measure need is bigger numbers that's it , tbf they could easily bump it to 25 % per injured survivors , actually make it good
@latenightnomad
@latenightnomad 20 сағат бұрын
I don't think I'd go so far as to say it would be useless, it's basically a permanent version of Leader (with slightly lower numbers) that doesn't require you to be near the survivor. In general I play it pretty safe with numbers though and I could see the 20% going up higher. I didn't want to add repair speed increases because that might be a bit much. I agree with you on Desperate Measures, I think that'd be the simplest and best solution. 20 or 25% per survivor, it would rival Botany Knowledge and feel much better overall. Thanks for taking your time to comment!
@Gonourakuto
@Gonourakuto 11 сағат бұрын
@@latenightnomad About better than new even if its permanent it will always be bad , just like leader that is currently very much unused despite requiring nothing out of you Also another issue with current better than new and your reworked version which is just better numbers overall , is that the best part about it is the heal speed buff But if you are running a perk like this in the first place you probably yourself have an healing build so you don't really care to give others a healing buff as you are gonna go for the heals anyway It makes it very redundant here have a buff to a job i am already gonna fullfill better anyway For me they just should just do it It work the way it does now , buff given after being healed and lost after being damaged , give 7 % repair speed and 14 % speed to everything else

hey man, good video. Since i saw your comment, that video was just 11 minutes, what is too long about that? Now with that out of the way, its kinda weird that you started off giving a short summary about the original perk, but at the end, there was just an even shorter ramble without giving any information. Also i really like the change to shattered hope, even tho on some killers it eats up the setup time if they check on their hex and decide to destroy it more than once. But yeah the ability to move your hex is definetely something dbd is missing, but i guess the moment the devs decide to do something about it, a new perk is created just to do that. I would remove the ability to destroy dull totems tho since there are a lot of perks for survivors to get buffs when cleansing one. Also the totems are supposed to be created by the killer (in the lore) so i dont see why they would destroy a totem that does nothing wrong. Basicly its like if you made a model car and you like it, you also wouldnt just step on it, because ... ^^

I originally planned on this video being like 7ish minutes long, I thought 11 was pushing it. That's all :p What do you mean by "even shorter ramble"? I probably could have gone more in detail on Rookie Spirit & Self-Preservation but I thought saying "it's unfun and unrewarding" was enough. (Not mad or offended by your comment, just curious so I can avoid rambling in the future.) I gave Shattered Hope the ability to crush dulls as a way to prevent those perks, even if they aren't all that strong. I just thought it was a unique way to counter something like Inner Strength. And I'm never too concerned about the lore aspect (within reason) but tbh I just forgot about that part lol Thanks for the comment! I do really appreciate you taking the time to give your feedback.

@@latenightnomad Yeah, was talking about self preservation. It kinda felt like you just said: "I dont like it, here my change" ^^ Imo crushing dull totems would either take up more time or not be a thing. How you said, most of them arent that strong to begin with.

Oh, one more thing about your video length, people can deal with way longer videos if you just add timestamps for it. For me in general timestamps are a good thing to use so my viewers can skip to the parts they are interested in and its really easy to set them up. (you basicly just put the timecodes in the description) Also dont be sorry about the length of the video, people prefere different lengths and you put your time into creating it, so why not show it ^^ For example i like watching even longer videos, you probably heared about Otzdarva and his videos of hours and hours, yeah, i watch those, piece by piece, but thats where the timestamps come in handy again.

I like the video idea but every perk just had too much going on with it's rework like maybe stick to simpler effects that are still powerful.

That's totally fair! I felt that way about Iron Grasp, personally. I'll keep that in mind for future projects. Not every perk needs to be an essay with a million different things going on :p

Bro... Horder is already a decent perk, don't touch it. It combines with the new Dracula perk. And now you want to do this... Okay, let's imagine I'm a survivor and I have a brown medkit with 5-0 charges. Oh my god, now I want to go pick it up... 100%. Let’s imagine I had a good item, but I KNOW that the killer has this perk, I know that he will receive a notification and an aura. Why should I do this? Moreover, I can simply drop an item and the killer will not be able to do anything with it. And now the most important thing. The same Dracula perk for auras around CLOSED chests. I get 3 open chests that I can close without hooking survivors. That is, the entire mechanics of Horder are killed by one perk for which it was taken in the first place. You just buffed him by +1 chest. Brilliant. I don’t even want to say anything about other perks, this is the maximum cringe changes

Hey man, worth mentioning that these changes are just for fun and to see what I can come up with. BHVR isn't going to look at my video and add the changes to the live game. In short, I don't think it's that deep. Regardless: - Hoarder is one of the least used perks in the game (8 spots away from being the least used perk, according to Nightlight) and it relies on survivors opening chests which doesn't happen that often. No matter how you try to spin it, I don't think many people would agree with it being a "decent" perk. I know I wouldn't. - The idea shown in this video is a *bonus* effect, the base effect of Hoarder is still there. I added on to it, I didn't remove the effect and start over. All the things you like about current Hoarder are still there. - Someone already mentioned the issue with this + Human Greed which I will address in a reply to them. Also, I don't know how something like this can be "cringe" but... sure? Sorry for having fun and trying to make an entertaining video? Thanks for the comment.

I don't want to be rude but all of these ideas seem either absurd (like the iron grasp one holy shit) or kinda pointless (like the fast track change). Still a good video but these, at least in my opinion, would just not work in the game.

Feel like you're being a bit harsh here. These are some of the worst and least used perks in the game and nearly every one has a "better" variant in some way (Desperate v. Botany, Iron Grasp v. Agitation, etc.) A lot of these ideas are just straight buffs (Better Than New, Fast Track, Desperate) so I don't understand how they're pointless, and I also said I wasn't in love with Iron Grasp. Thanks for the comment though.
