I remember hearing Rex Humbard back in the late 1960s and early 1970s. He was very influential in my life as a Jewish person who needed help in troubled times. It got so bad in the 1970's with Communist and Socialist Junior high kids that tormented me. Later in college I received Christ being broken and needy. Rex Humbard is so blessed for his faithful walk in Christ.

My family actually attended The Cathedral of Tomorrow in the late 60s, early 70s. I was about 12-13 when we started going, and there is a good chance I was at this very service! There was the large, circular main sanctuary that seated over 5000 people, with two stories of offices and classrooms surrounding it. Nearly every Sunday, driving from Cleveland to Cuyahoga Falls, nearly an hour drive each way. I really didn't like going, but I always kinda liked Rex, he seemed like a genuine and sincere fellow. That huge cross in the middle of the dome always made me nervous, I don't think I ever sat under it. I recall when they began building the Tower, which was supposed to be a revolving restaurant, and then later I went back and ate at the Cathedral Buffet they had opened next door.

i was just want to say congratulations on surviving the food from the cathedral buffet....okay, so right when rex got his erection going. i watched them pour that monstrosity from my american lit class- room 224 at bolich school. seriously? i could make it from the falls to rocky river in less than an hour and without breaking a whole bunch of laws. it IS an impressive sanctuary- i went there for my older brothers' graduations right about the time you were munching out at rex's buffet. cheers.

As a cradle Catholic growing up at this time, I found myself tuning in to Rex Humbard. Considering the Swaggarts, Jim Bakkers, Peter Popoffs, Robert Tiltons-I'd always considered Humbard a cut above & gleaned good things from his sermons. However, Jesus talked face-to-face to Simon, personally changed his name to "Cephas," (Rock) and said "Upon THIS Rock" I shall build my Church." Why not take Jesus at His word? He told Peter to "Feed My Sheep." He didn't say build my Church(es), but Church.
@garlandjones77095 жыл бұрын
2 major things wrong with the Catholic church. When you give confession in a church to a priest and he tells you your sins or forgiven or to do this, this, and this and you'll be cleansed... to me that's blasphemous. No-one has power to forgive sins but the Son himself. We're also told not to to do repeating prayers. If you wanna know how to pray, Jesus showed you how in John chapter 17 in the garden. Secondly, I can't believe for a second that Peter would've ever said a prayer to Mary or thought that she would ask Jesus to intercede on our behalf. Jesus said he was the intercessor, not one of many. That includes the pope too.

Old Guy You've read the '' holy babble '' thirty times ? Why so many ? what are you looking for ? It only took me reading it once -- only one time to see what a wicked, ridiculously insane book it really is -- filled with contradictions, absurdities, atrocities, unfulfilled prophesies and broken promises, immoralities, indecencies and obscenities. Maybe if you read it just one more time, you'll see what I did ?
@jerrylanglois78929 жыл бұрын
***** The main problem with people who use the word '' true '' when describing religion is that they don't understand what truth means . Something true can be proven by facts or a preponderance of the evidence ... religion is NOT based on truth, it is based on FAITH -- that's why it is called faith . There is no more reason to believe that Buddha's mother was impregnated by an elephant than there is to believe that Jesus' mother was impregnated by a spirit or that Jesus rose from the dead than Krishna did...

+Doug Cline Yes most people eat a meal three times each day, If ask why the reply is always the same. They need food to live or they are hungry well they eat for the same reason we read God's holy word. We need it to feed our soul. Reading the Bible is our guideline it is our food for the hungry soul and All Christians should hunger for Gods word!
