Greetings Heiko, I use the Pheonix preshaves straight up (worked in, without washing it off and reapplying) with shave cream/soap on top. Face or bowl thather works well with the preshave sticks or cubes, as does the one from Matt at Razor Emporium. The timeless bowl is also a winner, as is the case with all timeless products I've used. Rex certainly have razors well made to last generations. The normal or slant are efficient and feel great. I use thumb and index finger to locate and hold the blade on the topcap during assembly. Works for me in many razor models. I still use Alum and toner (Thayers lemongrass mainly), plus balm in the routine. There are some outstanding combos out there (incl brushes and soaps) that will set set you up for the day.
