Hey Oxhorn granted I didn't sift through every comment on this episode but I have a theory as to why he dislikes people with hats and not because he was a police dog 200 years ago but it does tie into part of my theory. I believe he dislikes Vulpes Inculta since he is a smart boy and had been with Caesar and the legion whitnessed his many atrocities and backstabbing which due to him being a police dog would see that as him being a criminal and disliked (might also have to do with the heraldry of his headpiece being a coyote) And the other person might be Lanius due to having broken that one tribe by throwing dogs onto the fires which he might have bore witness too and disappeared after to escape. (Or he hates them both) but thought I should share.

The King himself talks a bit about how they try to become Elvis, even though they don't know who he is. He says he learned to imitate Elvis's voice through some tapes that used to work and he could listen to him. He also makes a huge critic about celebrity idolatry, as he states that he believes "this place is religious or some sort". It's cool to listen for yourself, try talking with him on your playthrough :)

The name "Lupa" has to do with roman history... The legend says that Romolo, the founder of Rome, was raised by a female wolf, who fed him and his brother with her milk. Reverse medieval and Bronze Age. Because people would eat their pets in times of famine. The people that survived stayed loyal to their pets. Less scraps. Means the cats ate more mice. Which means less damaged food and more crops. The dogs as always helped with hunting. And horses usually helped with fighting and shit. The dogs could help with hunting with the owner, and humans are abundant in the wasteland. And we have a high amount of nutrients that are useful to carnivores. Making us a prime snack for wasteland carnivores.

Not only that but giving him that huge boost to health just makes it easier for him NOT TO DIE. I don't like it when characters I get attached to die and try to prevent it at every turn. Making Rex tankier just makes me happy to know I won't be losing a friend any time soon.

Oxhorn, I think you might have mis-told the meaning behind the name Lupa. While yes, it does mean she-wolf, it is also the name associated with the mythical she-wolf that was the adoptive mother of Romulus and Remus, who were the children of king Amuilus, and Romulus himself would later become the founder, and first king of Rome. Meaning that a Legion member naming his bitch Lupa, has much more meaning behind it. Or in the very least, that's my 2 cents.

it's a monkey's paw. promises to fix everything yet, the replacement brain's personality and self replace the original seat of consciousness to be merged with a digital backup. both dogs die as beings being fused into one new personality. were you to do this to a human a transhumanist would refer to that as a personality death, like if we were to update your brain with a new mind. also either the organic components are largely cybernetics with the appearance of flesh like a robocop face or the flesh is basically preserved and animated in the scientific equivalent of necromancy as there is no robot part you can add that stops cells aging,dying and generally being vulnerable to dna degredation from radiation exposure. theres very little dog about creating a robot taxidermy of your dog. honestly whenever you aim to give something immortality it is vital that you learn the inherent likelihood that you inflict them with the curse of immortality rather than helping. what with information being functionally immortal anyway arguably death is the kindest end as it allows the chance to occur again and start again from pupper stage, a whole new life. i get the yearning for doggos to last as long as other people though, don't get me wrong thats why getting it right is so important. oh yea and you casually turn your dog into a vampire for other dog brains to sustain its longevity so thats awful as well obviously.

Lupa is a Roman wolf goddess, she raised Romulus and Remus. Romulus became the founder of Rome so she was basically the mother/guardian of the first king of Rome. So, very appropriate for the mother of Legion hounds.
