I love fallout new Vegas so much because every year I go down to Arizona to visit my parents, and we always drive up to Vegas, and it's just so neat seeing all the places I've seen in real life all dilapidated and ruined, it's just an overall cool feeling. I've also been to a lot of the smaller towns outside of Vegas like Boulder city and Searchlight, and when I first got NV and discovered them, it was amazing.

Taylor Duncan I've wasted some good hours in Google Earth trying to compare. I was so perplexed to notice that the road from Goodspring to the Interstate is so much longer in real life. Obviously NV had to be reduced, but it was just weird to actually compare. Imagine how awesome (and impossible to do) a 1:1 version of NV would be.

I had visited there just before Fallout 4 came out, and then I decided I would spend a good amount of time just walking around and seeing how much things had changed in 250 years. It doesn't really deal with more intense topics, it just shoves them in your face more. Cait is gangraped for years, and that's pretty clear in the subtext of her personal story. Jake at Saugus was about to murder an innocent person for no reason. Raiders kidnap eachother. Hell, FO4 has a silent scene where there's a raider burying their friend. I always snipe that guy in the head and bury them together. People are betrayed, murdered, replaced, used, abused, raped, drugged, enslaved in Fallout 4. It's much closer to PG 13, but that's fine, I don't need crass grossness and badly done cursing to appreciate an adult theme.

The fact that NCR has a whole part of the parliment made up of ghouls from the Boneyard and that they are a vital part of their society makes me always choose NCR above anyone else. Ghouls are very important to the Post-Fallout society of the game and not many realize it. Plus: the more social ghouls tend to keep their mind in check for a lot longer if not indefinitely.

When you think about it, nonferal Ghouls are essentially ambassadors to the Old World. Maybe some turned after, but a good amount seem to have been alive and well in the days before the Great War. Kind of an amazing cultural resource and people you can literally look to as reminders of when the world changed forever.

I know this is an old post but I've found that same loophole as well in my playthroughs. I'm no coder but I believe the riot helmet falls under the facial attire subcategory like sunglasses or eyeglasses whereas the firefighter helmet is just normal headgear like anything else.

My Hentai Girl in fallout 3 & new vegas rad away and rad x were hard to come by at the lower levels unless you knew where to look and you would get power armor late game making it more of a challenge and going into radiated areas daunting while fallout 4 is like "oh radiation let me jump into my nifty power armor at level 2 and get less than 1 present radiation" while in 3 & new vegas you had to use rad away and rad x sparingly as there was less ways to get rid of radiation as well

Pro Legion on Hardcore is definitely the hardest way to play the game. If you role play it heavily and early, damn near everyone is your enemy and its a lot harder to heal (for the people who roleplay a Legion vet who despises chems)

If we look back in our world at Spartacus and the Third Servile War, the Romans underestimated the slave rebellion & it grew from a few dozen escaped slaves to over 120k (including non-combatants) within its two years of eluding Roman patrols & assaults. It was the only revolt that directly threatened the empire of Rome itself & resulted in over 20k Romans being killed by its finale. Nice to see the Medicine Stick in your arsenal Ox, I always think it has the best sights and it hit's like a train. As to radiation, yes, I feel NV did a good job making you actually wary of it, keeping rad-x and radaway is short-ish supply in early game, one reason I favour the Gecko Backed leathers, although they can't be obtained without going to Zion canyon. Later I do tend to buy amost any and all meds and chems I can find, but the tic-tic-tic of the geiger always makes me twitch a little.

Fun fact: if you shimmy up the edge of the cottonwood cove truck, you get and option to open the door and send radioactive barrels into the legion, killing them all, and repeating searchlight.

Well I just went and looked. While the station does have the wierd looking computer room it does not have the circuit breakers and the lights are on. I have an un-modded GOTY version with all 7 DLC so _something_ has changed it. And I don't recall the lights being off in Gopher's LP either, but I will check.

You know, for all the things we know about the Legion, we really don't know too much about them. We know the Legion's military, but I would really like to see what it's like back in the territory they control. All we really have is Cass grudgingly conceding that the Legion is much better at defending its trade and infrastructure than the NCR currently is. It's a shame NV wasn't finished with all its planned story content, I'm sure the Legion would have much more to it than another glorified raider gang.

Cause fascism works wonderful lol. What Caesars legion is doing is gonna end up just like the real Roman Empire. Become just as corrupt (if not more) as the NCR, and eventually become so bloated it collapses in on itself. Once Caesar dies, no ones gonna know how to lead the raging lunatics and it will all end up in ruin. The NCR, no matter what anyone in the game says about them being overly bureaucratic, is at least trying to affirm the dignity of the individual and achieve peace and prosperity for all people living under it. They at least hold elections, they at least recognize that civilization must return. They don’t go around cosplaying as legionaries and using the defense that their bringing peace to the wasteland to hang people on fucking crosses. Say what you want about the NCR. The legion, no matter what, is ten times worse.

I doubt its much different than what its like in Fallout: New Vegas. People are hung up on crosses for being anything Caesar doesn't like, freedom of thought is dead, and slaves are owned. Great fucking place. Meanwhile NCR once again, at least retains many of the rights and liberties that were guaranteed by the old world. Including the right of everyone to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

If you wanna go by anyone's word... I used to obsess over Fallout 3, I 100% as best as I could in that game, got every achievement and trophy (both systems obviously) and couldn't get enough of it. After FO3, I tried New Vegas and didn't like it at first. Some changes are pretty big to the overall gameplay but keep with it, you'll get used to it and I can't get enough of the Mojave. I mean I changed my profile to Dr. Mobius FFS. It's damn good and definitely worth it. There's a reason why it got so much love from the purists in NMA forum and why it became even MORE admired after FO4 came out. The introduction of Survival in FO4 was 100% thanks to New Vegas' Hardcore mode.

2 more ways you could of ended the private Edwards quest. You could ask Astor about Edwards, after you said that Astor wants to kill Edwards, and then do the radscorpion bit, then you can ask Edwards about rejoining his unit, then with a speech of 50 or an intelligence of 7, you can convince Astor to re-let Edwards in his unit. Or you could just tell him to wander the Mojave instead of rejoining his unit or going to the ranger camp. Then he will ironically go to mesquite mountain crater, which is full of radiation and radscorpions.

Many quest characters can follow you on the map if you fast travel with them as soon as you get outside such as Rhonda, Gunderson a private ncr soldier in a cave and even the bodyguards in freeside can fast travel once outside to other parts of the map but unlike Gunderson,Rhonda, the private ncr soldier,etc they go home immediately. How many quest characters etc can do this?

Probably not. For as genius as he is, and, don't get me wrong, I hate the Legion, but I give credit where it's due, there is so much ideologically questionable and Oxhorn doesn't seem like the type to buy ends-justify-the-means reasoning. At the end of the day, the Legion are still slavers. The Legion is still a horribly authoritarian group only one step above a raider gang.

There is one reason... If you can envision a Caesar's Legion minus Caesar, they're likely to be the surest keepers of order around, because there's at least some checks as opposed to House, independence is likely anarchy, and the NCR couldn't keep order in a house with all the furniture nailed down with a Mr. Handy to pick up after you. I don't buy the argument, but there it is anyway.

I forgot if this were an option or not but there should be a way you can open the trailer of the third truck overlooking cottonwood cove and roll out the radiation barrels/tubes out of the trailer since it's teetering off the cliff anyway, once they reach the ground and set off a radiation bomb. That's a smart way to get back at the legion. If not, then that's a missed opportunity.

Oxhorn, please, there is a MUCH better looking face mod out there than FCO... Try New Vegas Redesigned 3! It only changes the appearances of characters, but in such a way that every character still looks unique. I feel like FCO changes all the faces into one samey face with unnatural 'normal' faces.

I checked it out, but it changes locations too--like Bitter Springs. And some of the changes are far too dramatic--like completely new hair styles, and new facial and body features (scars and tattoos). I think it strays from the original design too much.

To be fair, the changes are only applied to characters when it makes sense. For example, the crucified powder gangers at Nipton and Boxcars actually look like they were beaten now. People who are supposed to be injured now look injured, etc. As for the Bitter Springs changes, it just adds a few more refugees with some lines meant to humanize them as a group. Additionally, FCO makes changes like this in less lore friendly ways. For example, Private Edwards is supposed to be a full ghoul, not a "half-ghoul" like FCO portrays him. I would encourage you to try the mod for an hour or so, visiting major NPCs and the locations you're concerned about. Having tried both mods extensively, I can say that as someone concerned about lore, I vastly prefer NVR3.

There is an OP .308 sniper rifle on an outlook North of Cottonwood Cove that I used against them. However, it's in a 100 lock pick case. It's also a good outlook for sniping at Cottonwood Cove. Also, good luck on that assault.

I remember stumbling across camp searchlight. so fun when you just come across such a place with a great story and characters involved. was so pissed when the scavengers betrayed me in the firehouse though, typical selfish assholes of the wastes. it took so much longer but I helped the private get to the ghoul camp, even escorted him there. this is what makes fallout so special, particularly new vegas. so many great stories and locations with the legion/ncr war on.
