Their brain and nervous system is still functional, but their whole body is effectively dead, but the nerves still fire even if the pathways aren't available. Within a few weeks, it’s essentially liquified. So there would be no way for a zombie that’s been dead for even just a few days, to think or reason. In fact, any motor function would be just random f contractions of muscle as there would be no way for the puddle of goo that the brain has become to send any signals to the muscles.

I think Trash's jaw got mutanted by the 2-4-5 Trioxin rain. When it started raining and they all ran back to the car. The roof started leaking and 2-4-5 Trioxin rain fell all in Trash's mouth. That and the marijuana she had smoked I believe caused her to mutate.
@creepycody8480 Жыл бұрын
I definitely agree with 95% of the Trash theory. Her completely being naked when the Trioxin Rain comes down would mean she's absorbing the chemical more than everyone else. I personally believe when the zombies held her down on the muddy ground, they could sense she was far too contaminated with Trioxin to be of any real use to them and soon left her where she was. She most likely died of intense fear (which is ironic considering she used to find death arousing but in the moment she was completely horrified) The combination of the Trioxin exposure & the marijuana in her system may have led to some kind of genetic alteration. Making her into something different compared to most Trioxin zombies. I would even go so far to say that she's not even in pain like the other zombies. When she wakes up & arises she's seems to be relishing her new undead existence, feeling more fulfilled than she did in life. I think it's scarier if she's killing for pleasure rather than out of desperation like most Trioxin zombies. As for the whole mutated face thing... personally I don't think it's needed. I think Trash's natural looks would be useful in luring victims to her. It just seemed like the face was done more for cheap scares rather than the story itself. Just my opinion tho. Great video 🤟💯

They do specifically state that the pain is physical. They can feel themselves rot, as stated by torso zombie. Even after Fred is clinically dead and a zombie the rigor mortis causes physical pain. Through some movie sci-fi their functions still continue as they can smell and talk. That means they also can get bursts of adrenaline, likely when going for the kill, so that could explain the lack of reaction some zombie have to attacks. Later in the film attacking a hand causes a zombie to recoil so it likely feels pain. Maybe it just depends on how fresh they are?

Q1: The less fun answer to why Trash has a monster face is i read somewhere that having her run around naked the whole film with her face unaltered would have resulted in a nc-17 rating. Q6: Electrocution doesnt just stop your heart and disrupt your nerve signals. It , if you are left on the live wire, will immolate you(burned from within) since it uses your nerves as conductors (wires) and the wattage cooks you from the inside out and destroys those nerves in the process. It also cooks all your internal organs and boils your blood.

Trash wasn’t already dead because of the rain. If that were the case, all of the characters would be dead (except maybe Ernie) because they were exposed to the rain. She becomes a zombie only after being killed and left laying in a big pool of Trioxin contaminated rain water. However, both Freddie and Frank did die immediately after taking a blast of Trioxin right to their faces and inhaling it directly. It’s specifically why the Tarman didn’t munch on their brains and let them be. It’s actually explained in interviews and in a “making of” book that came out several years ago. The director, Dan O’Bannon, was surprised that audiences didn’t immediately pick up on that fact.

Same actor, but not the same Tarman. While a Tarman did make an appearance in part 2 and in Rave To The Grave, the one from the first film is not the same one as part two. Remember, Burt knocked his “goddamn block off” in part one. I mean he Mark McGwire’d Tarman’s head. In part 2, the Tarman has head still fully attached to his body. Now, the Tarman from part 2 could conceivably be the same one that shows up in Rave To The Grave. Tarman zombies are just the result of the zombies in the canisters/drums being rapidly exposed to the air. It causes their flesh to very quickly liquify, or melt. So, any of the zombies in the canister would become Tarmen (or Tarwomen) under those circumstances.

@BlackhartHill11 ай бұрын
Sorry for the wall of text but this is my take. 1. Trash's look is due to her jaw being broken from her skull. That's why it is always hanging. 2. The cop was the same just brainless or enough to stand there and wave a light but does not react. That's why he was slow to run up to feed only after seeing the rest attack. 3. Frank and Freddy are not alt twins. this was an alt-universe. they ended up in similar work and the general was a general in that world as well he said not again as he may have been referring to the creation of the "pods" 4. The Tar "MEN" are different zombies but they were all from the "pods" they were the first zombies and not preserved well. 5. Electrocution kills all cells. leaving the body intact but 99% destroyed internally. 6. the pain curbing the hunger was on the freshness of the zombie. more decay more pain Julie was fresh as the entire movie was in one night. As for Freddy, the acid in the phase was more shock of sudden blindness rather than pain he also was more aware after looking for them so pain might override the hunger but only temporary. 7. the tryoxin used in part 3 was the original chemical rather than the dead body fermented gas from the first and second films. 8. part 4 was a sequel to the first part. and part 5 was to part 2. different timelines.

The electrocution thing never bothered me in Part 2. I always just assumed the current would destroy the nervous system throughout the body and thus their ability to move/live. And I first heard the rumor as CHUD 2 was an unused script for Part 2, not 3, which would be more believable for the time frame. Although there are some similarities between CHUD 2 and Part 3, like freezing the zombies that gives the idea merit. Who knows, maybe great minds just think alike when coming up with B movie sequel plots?
@pluto545 Жыл бұрын
I think so, too. Electrocution is pretty effective way to kill just about anything, extended electrocutions gives an almost unavoidable outcome of death. Since, it's not concentrated to one area of the body, but most of the body with most of the nerves and major organs included. Outside of a large-scale fire or nuclear blast, it would probably be the most effective thing that could kill these types of zombies or creatures.

I have an idea for question #3, the bites do cause infection and possibly bites in the brain take longer because it's harder for the chemical to reanimate as fast without the nervous system working. Suicide was going to turn but wasn't yet and since they likely blocked off the room where Scuz was in he likely turned faster because that bite didn't even reach the brain and he likely was trapped in there once turning. Bites do turn you the cop probably turned fast so they stopped eating him. And the sequel is set in a parallel universe. The reason the Colonel says not again is because it happened before in the events that made romero make notld. All zombies in the barrels turn into tar men. Elctrocution causes alot more damage than heart damage it literally burns you alive especially if taken directly from a transformer. Ive seen it in real life and it plays on my retina atleast once daily.

OK question about the cop. He has the shower cap on top of his hat. So maybe he was out in the rain before and it got into his system then. You don't see them actually bite into his head so maybe it's the same as Trash.

I didn't wonder why her face changed. I wondered why she has NO visible injuries. She's nude and there's not a scratch on her! I guess the zombies just crowded her to death?

@@zmbdog I wondered the same. However, she may have just been drowned. Why they would drown her rather than eating her, I have no idea lol

The zombies gave Trash a fatal group hug and she's too cute to eat that's why she has no visible injuries.

You missed some other important questions that need answers. 1. Why did Burt keep the tanks in the first place? Clearly, they were dangerous military property. Since they were accidentally delivered, he could have returned them with no issue, and may even have been paid off to keep his silence. 2. Why didn't ALL the punks get sick from the Trioxin-laced rain? Trioxin exposure obviously transformed Frank, Freddie, and Trash. While there may not have been enough time for the punks to all die and reanimate, they should have at least gotten sick. 3. How was the torso zombie able to speak? On the table, it can clearly be seen the torso zombie has no lungs or diaphragm, and for that matter no lips, yet she's able to speak with perfect clarity. 4. Why did they burn the bodies out in the open at the end of part 2? As seen in part 1, burning a Trioxin-laced body releases Trioxin into the air. Burning the bodies with flamethrowers would have created a potential new outbreak.

Man I love this movie. This may be the perfect 80's horror comedy that touched a little on everything going on. Punk and teen angst, nuclear war fears, military mistakes impacting the present, government bungling disasters, and facing what seems like an unbeatable enemy you don't truly understand. And it's just a fun popcorn flick as well...

I thought it was hilarious how they brought them back for the second film, and then the Easter Eggs are even more funny. They are new characters and add the Easter Eggs because of the obvious casting of the film.

Cop theory: When they tackle him, there are so many that the force of them smashes him to the ground, breaking his neck and damaging his brain enough to kill him near instantly. Thus, he is dead before they can crack open his head, scoop him clean and therefore he can "return".

The pain is caused by the brain functioning but the nurons are no longer firing like perpetual pins and needles dialed up to 11. Eating brains gives a temporary infusion of nurons.

good question! and i think i talk about that in the first video too, and yeah, it doesn't make much sense, but i suppose it's either a "certain amount" of brain. or possibly a particular area of the brain that's needed. i mean, i know it doesn't really make sense, but it's all in fun anyway.

Return of the Living Dead 4 is actually my favorite in the series. While I will admit that I do highly suspect that parts 4 and especially 5 were originally unrelated zombie movies and were converted into ROTLD movies at the last minute. But still, part 4 just really resonates with me.

It's not my favorite, but it's the only sequel that I consider to have a worthwhile premise as a follow-up to the first film's events. The second one is just the first movie all over again. The third one feels completely out of place in this series. And the fifth one...is garbage.

The cop one, maybe too many attacked at once. We see him hit the ground making contract with the chemicals. Maybe they killed him but too many attacked causing them to not be able to reach before he turned. Like if too many people are trying to beat up someone when they are on the ground they can end up hitting each other/ blocking each other's hits. Second maybe (and more likely): the zombies knew more would come and knew to keep one undead to attract. These zombies are not dumb and now that keeping one going could get more. Explains why they attacked him, but not eating his brain, yet eaten the other guy fully. They only needed one to trick everyone else. They knew whatever group that showed up would be able to tell if it was the right guy or someone dressed like him.

I think the zombies in the second movie die to electricity, not beacause of the electricity itself, rather what a current can create. Heat. (granted I havent seen the movie and am going soley off clips you show). In one of the clips I see, a zombie is bleeding out of its orifices. Mouth, eyes, nose, etc, while being electrocuted. This makes me think its insides are melting, which would coincide with them being suceptible to heat, as in the first movie, their weakness is said to be an atomic blast, or a furnace, both things creating heat.

I think the Tash thing is purely an artistic license thing... she is the main attraction in the film so her makeup budget allowed for a more elaborate and goulish transformation. I don't think there is really much else to it. The cop is really a mystery. The pain is physical.

I was born in 83 and saw return of the living dead many times since I was about 8 years old. I have reached to the same conclusions in pretty much all of your theories. However, I have a few differences and in regards to the cop and the zombies being intelligent i.e calling for more cops and paramedics (like some kind of food delivery order lol) that I'm sure they expected they would send more back up and intentionally didn't eat all of the cop and only at the top of the head which the hat conceals, and that the huge amount of zombies attacking was to simply ensure that he would be subdued that would eventually give them a proper meal.... MORE BRAINS! Big brain for more brain, am I right? 😂🧟♂️🧟♀️🧟🤓 Also, in regards to the pain of being dead some pain is worse than others i.e stubbing your toe verses it getting mangled and maimed. So they feel pain but since they're already in a state of pain that's possibly greater than what's being inflicted, it appears that it doesn't affect them and that their goal of eating brains to end the pain motivates them enough to overcome any pain they may face and that the reason Freddy was stunned by the acid is because the eyes are more sensitive than most other parts of the body and the sensation of burning is probably greater than having a bullet cleanly go through them. Just my thoughts anyways that makes sense to me. By the way, you can tell Tarman had moved Suicide and see him lying directly on the pulley chain, facing the opposite way of when he originally fell to the ground. Perhaps Tarman was trying to use the chain to move Suicide with the wench pulley to perhaps get him in the barrel to revive him? And maybe he gave up that endeavor seeing how large Suicide was and instead went upstairs trying to free himself and tried to get Suicide to help him in his escape given his superior physical stature. Finally, the idea of mental pain is also pretty spot on, kinda like opioid withdrawal (albeit more severe) where you're not being physically injured, but you are still suffering with unbearable physical and psychological sensations of pain and depression. Needing a dose of brains to feel normal again with all the neurotransmitters that the zombies lack. The brain is a chemical producing & absorbing engine after all. Plus the zombies most likely lack the stomach enzymes that would destroy those neurotransmitters, allowing them to be absorbed. Pseudoscience yes, but like you said it's fun to think about lol. EDIT: Acid that was first mentioned in TROTLD was most likely a better solution than burning with fire as it has the same effect but without the smoke and probably minimal vapor. So I include acid along with fire and nukes, especially how a little bit of it was so effective against Freddy. It really is to my mind the only way to solve the problem without repeating it again and spreading the chemical further. Lastly, I always found the names Burt and Ernie hilarious as some kind of Sesame street reference. Not to mention the Easter egg concerning Ernie's past, which I won't spoil what that is and plus KZbin will probably remove my comment due to key words.

as far as the cop situation i honestly think since its a low budget movie and needed extra bodies for different scenes they may of just reused the actor in a different one. as far the same actors and same zombie, i believe it has to be a alternate dimension.

My guess is that The Brain is full of a bunch of different hormones, including the hypothalamus, and maybe if the zombie eats certain parts of the brain or in combination with a bunch of other hormones from the brain, it causes a euphoric state, basically like getting high, and it causes them to forget about the pain of being dead? Kind of like the Gathoga in the relic. How it needed the hormones from the brain in order to live or something like that. But also, it could be a neurological thing? When that one corpse said she could feel her body rotting.? Maybe she meant not exactly literal pain, but a deeper neurological pain. I’m no doctor and I’m not even going to try but interesting.
@amitypredator9385 Жыл бұрын
I think the idea of the electricity killing them is it's completely and utterly destroying the brain whereas a bullet or a pick ax can only harm a part of it.
