About the Lambert conundrum: First of all, the way she was killed is pretty much unique. Xenomorphs usually kill or subdue their victims quickly and efficiently, even if they are not in a hurry (Brett). But the xeno acted weirdly with Lambert. It put its tail slowly and deliberately between Lambert's legs, and we don't see exactly how she died. My wild guess is that the xeno acted out of curiosity, not aggression. It probably noticed humans came in two varieties, but was unsure about Lambert. The xeno wanted to explore her body, and used the part of its body more suitable to do that exploration. Too bad Lambert couldn't survive the xeno's curiosity, and too bad we couldn't ask the xeno what was its conclusion.

The thing about Lambert and mention of "no signs of mental trauma" in the bio, was, I suspect, a *dark* humorous reference to the implication of just how the Alien killed her. I don't know if you can even talk about it on KZbin, but look where its tail is going before Ripley hears her ungodly screams over the radio. I wouldn't be at all surprised if Cameron wrote that bit himself during production design. Love this intro. There are some insects who don't eat in their adult stage. What if a facehugger implants an emryo, which feeds from it's host, while replacing smoe of it's bodily functions, until it gets enough to evolve to an adult. Then the adults primary purpose is to obtain more hosts, but if there's not a queen around for them to communicate with, they eat what they catch?
@juanausensi4994 ай бұрын
Chestbursters are born too small to having on them everything they need to attain adult form. Furthermore, the host doesn't seem to lose any kind of functionality of their bodies. So, they need to feed after they emerge, even if we don't know what they eat. The 'growing from own's acid' has the same problem. Chestbursters can't hold enough acid to sustain their growth, and because they grow into a host, all that acid needs to be made from the hosts' body.

I wished it could've happened, since it's bringing together the three BIGGEST and ICONIC sci fi/ horror aliens together to a fight to the death. @BulletTooth5044 ай бұрын
Lambert's file only says "male to female" without the term intersex appearing, so I'm thinking her parents suffered gender disappointment and had the reassignment procedure done simply because they didn't want a boy. As for what the Despin Conversion might entail, my fake sci-fi money would be on surgery and some kind of gene therapy that would convert the patient's Y-chromosome into an X-chromo (or vice-versa). Seems like invitro fertilization with sex-specific embryos would simpler and safer. However, if the gender disappointment doesn't kick in until late in the pregnancy, then I suppose the parents might rather opt for the conversion. Otherwise they'd have to deal with the current baby (interpret that as you will) and start over from scratch.

14:08 I have an alternative theory about the Xenomorph in the Original Alien... I dont think it was dying - I think it was deliberately laying dormant... I know they are not supposed to be base don insects but they share so much in common with insects... We know that in Alien, It appears to "Awful Word" Lambert... But we know from ALIENS that Lambert is Transexual - Male to Female... And there is a theory that does the rounds that the Alien Cocooning Scene in the Directors Cut may have been the Xeno trying to create a new Queen or "Warriors" to Guard a Queen... So the reason it appears to be slow against Ripley is it does not want to harm her... It knows she is a Viable Female... A Host for a Queen where there is NO EGG! Why did it behave differently to what it thought were Females? It was far more aggressive to the male crew... I think that this may be plausible! Also, thanks to the creation of Aliens and its changes to the Xenomoph... Big Chap in Alien was a "Drone" or "Worker" - While the Xenos in Aliens are "Warriors"... And the ones around teh Queen which we get barley a glimpse of are often seen as Praetorians or Royal Guard... Again, Nothing Canon... All of this was created by fans to explain significant differences between the two movies... 17:46 Oh Lambert came up, I think we should also bear in mind that ALIEN is set in the Future... As such we have no idea what developments will happen with regards to "Intersexual" surgery, will it be phased out entirely or be optional... It is possible that in teh future, Diagnosis of Intersex can happen pre-natal, so decisions can be made before birth, Of course again this is theory and I know some folks wont be happy with me even coming up with such a theory... But the world is Diverse, Not everyone handles things the same way... Unfortunately, As human beings, We never will... So even in the far future, There will be people looking to "Correct Natures Errors"...

Q2: I did think of those tubs being what they use to draw in what they need, and is pretty cool. But going by comics and novels (if you want to count them as canon to the movies) they do sometimes eat people, when their not using them for the making others that is. As for the space thing, we have seen them out there and be totally fine. But they may not be able to survive long term, unless they go into a hibernated state. I really don't count deleted scenes myself, say for when they are re-added into an extended cut. Q3/4: A number of things on Earth from Bamboo Mushroom to African Turquoise Killifish grow incredibly fast. So with a Xeno and its unnatural makeup it grows freaky fast is just what it is. But were it gets the energy need I don't know, what was Movie Timelines could be spot on, its an Alien 🤷♂ It could possibly explain why they only live a few week or months. Though nothing really has been shown that says they have a really short life cycle. I mean Scott may have planned that, but from the movies, to the comics etc there really isn't anything that says they'll last a few days. And the one in the first movie, I always figured it was moving slow cause it was going into hibernation. That could also explain why it never bothered to go after Ripley until she forced it to move. Eggs to last 100's or 1000's of years, drones could possibly live a few months or a year. But again if we count comics and such, they can also hibernate for 10's or 100's of years. They just become incredibly slow and some even died from old age. The Queen from AvP was being kept in cryostasis and that's why she was alive for 5 or 6,000 years. I think most Queens live normally a few 100 years or so. But there is the Empress and Queen Mother too, so who knows how long they last. Q10: I do like the AvP movies, but thought it would have been better if it was set in the future and on a colonized planet. Predator 2 has a really good note as for the 2 franchise crossing over, I just wish it could have been better done. The only other crossovers I enjoyed was the one with Batman and Vampiralla. I'm hoping Alien V Avengers will be good 🤞🤞

Pretty sure that the board room scene ends with the head guy telling Ripley that Hadley's has about 60 - 70 "families" on it, so even if the average family unit consists of only 3 individuals we get into the low 200's range for possible hosts. If the sentry guns really did take out about 100 aliens as is implied, that still leaves enough for the 50 or so that we see in the final assault, because the Marines only iced maybe 2 dozen during the first encounter (mostly Drake & Vasquez but we can't say for sure because our pov character is watching on screens in the APC). Since Ripley doesn't really run into any drones on her way down to the Queen and we see less than 20 guarding her it's quite possible that the low 200's is more than enough for what we see in the movie.
