I like that they have a salad station near the pizza station. I was wondering about that because i liked combining a salad from the Buffet with a slice or two of pizza for lunch. I had been wondering if that would be possible with the Buffet on a different level.

Thanks for sharing this! Can you do a tour of the areas for kids? We are considering this ship but not sure how this would cater for young kids. We typically do Royal Caribbean. Curious to know how it is on this new ship!

As a cruise counsellor I don't really recommend Princess for young children, especially if you've been on Royal. They have kids clubs but they aren't very busy so if your children are social they won't have many other kids compared to Royal. If you have a child that isn't toilet trained there are no pools you can use. There is a splash area on the Sun but based on the lack of reply when I've asked Princess about it I doubt they will allow swim diapers. For my family, my daughter has special needs so she can't do the kids clubs and doesn't care for the typical kids activities so we prefer Princess for us but if you enjoy the kids activities on Royal I would suggest sticking with them.

Hi Rex, Love your videos and your candor about your experience. Can I ask for a quick peak into the Pros and Cons of the Sun?. I have a scheduled phone call with Princess later today to possibly book an August cruise. It was between Celebrity Ascent and the Sun Princess for the cruise dates out of Rome. In your last video the passenger in the Hot tube said "Unique" experience and "good and bad". What was he talking about? I appreciate your insight.

Basic soft serve is free, ice cream in the dining room as well. The fancy sundaes are extra but if you have Princess Plus you get two premium desserts a day and if you get Premier you get unlimited.

Agree with travelingbeyondboundaries... The Sun appears to provide exactly the kind of WOW I'm looking for. A stunning ship and classy experience without the Cunard/Silver Seas price tag. Yay 🎉

I don’t think it will ever wow like the Icon for example. For us, a lot of the wow is not finished yet.

@@glynischester7620I’ve yet to see anything stunning or classy about this ship outside of the venues and Piazza. Park19 for instance looks like it’s completely out of place as well the overall look of the ship. It just looks…old? Especially the staterooms. Also not really impressed with their handling of all the issues till now. As Rex said below, much of the “wow” isn’t finished yet and I find it absurd that this was not communicated to people before they boarded. I was originally leaning heavily to this ship as a place to celebrate an engagement but after all I’ve seen Im most likely going to cancel my booking and go on the Ascent instead. Princess also raising the price of specialty dining and making casual dining like Kai Sushi specialty now is yet another blow against them.

@@jasonblaise6786 You'll get no argument from me regarding the way Princess has handled these issues. They have disappointed many loyal cruisers, including me. But that is completely separate from my opinion of the "look" of the Sun (which IMHO is a vast improvement over the Royal class). That said, my opinion is just that... mine. But if the Ascent is more your cup of tea, then I wish you fair weather and beautiful sunsets as you celebrate your engagement on her. Congratulations.
