Awww you jumped into their legendary 2016 MAMA performance of Fire but missed the intro-Boy Meets Evil and Blood Sweat and Tears, which is why V had the scars from losing his Angel Wings - 2016 was a huge year for our Tannies. They won their first DAESANG that year. I highly recommend watching their MAMA/MMA awards performances from start to finish, chronologically 2015-2021 to truly appreciate their meteoric rise and absolute industry domination from 2015 to 2016 and every year thereafter💜

Oh yeah they were sweating big time in this performance. That once dance was a lot for them back then in terms of difficulty and energy needed, but then they also had other songs they performed in that set for MAMA 2016. The overall thing was amazing how they moved from one song into the next while having a bit of storyline in the staging. Such a fun song! By the way, don't take it to heart when other idols don't show much reaction during BTS performances. I used to feel the same as a baby ARMY too when I first saw it. They would all just be stone-faced, no reaction, no dancing nothing even though the performances were amazing. You'd think they were watching paint dry. Apparently it was very common for them to just not react in any way, mostly to avoid fans online speculating or being weird about any group seeming to support each other or dating rumours and things like that. It's also suspected that some just don't want to be seen as enjoying the competition too much but I don't know how true that is. It would make sense given the political climate within the industry. That year was the first time an artist from a non-Big 3 company won the grand prize for Album of the Year. Things were getting pretty tense back then with BTS growing and leaving their mark.

You definitely need to dive into their more heavy rap stuff seeing as u like rap music! The songs you’ve listened to so far obv contain raps but they’re short and fit for pop songs. I feel like you haven’t seen raplines full potential just yet 😭 You’ve talked a lot about wanting to hear Suga’s story etc. Highly recommend listening to his Agust D mixtapes/albums. Would love full album reactions 🥹 He’s a very raw and honest lyricist (and sometimes aggressive) - he’s a storyteller! He stands alone as a producer on a lot of his work too.

I have my own theory about Fire MV. They are burning their youth here. In yhe beginning they all are behind the fence, they are in their youth. Even their outfits are kinda childish. And there's a figure that represents struggles and haters that awaiting them in their adulthood. Suga is the first leaving youth to face these struggles, as he was one of the first of them who started struggling in life, being in depression, fighting with parents, moving to Seoul without money and support, starving every day ect. And then he just burns it all, all of them burn their youth (and haters) on their path to success.

Mama performances flow from one song to another so what you saw was the end of one song and the transition into the next song which was Fire. So the first images of V's back etc were part of the Blood Sweat and Tears performance which happened just before Fire.

O!RUOT7,2? said on 12/22/22 Fun story from Armys. There was an Army who visited Korea and saw trash burning outside a restaurant. Said Army does not speak Korean at all, but because of this song knew that the Korean word for Fire is: bultaoreune. So to get the attention of the restaurant workers, she kept on pointing and saying Bultaoreune until the restaurant owner saw and put out the fire. 😊 S said on 12/22/22 There was another story where an int'l army was in a Korean restaurant and the food was not heated so she called waiter and asked him to heat the food again but the waiter couldn't understand so she literally sang bultaoreune and then that's when the waiter understood. The other artists are probably also just really tired....MAMA awards tend to run 4-5 hours of performances etc plus the red carpet before plus they have to do interviews and get ready etc. Most of them have been preparing and being there etc for 10-12 hrs already....it is hard to be hyped up for that long.
