Got my Rexton Reach’s this week. I LOVE them! I had an older model Rexton that I was replacing. The Reach is so much more natural sounding. They seem to adjust to sounds around me very well. The best part is that they are rechargeable.

Nice, to-me reassuring review. I was fitted with Rexton Reaches 2 weeks ago and had my first adjustment session today. I asked for an additional program today, a clone of the Automatic program toned down a bit in the high frequencies, we named it Automatic #2. I think it's going to be my new favorite. These are my first hearing aids and this is really exciting.

I will be ordering my first hearing aids from Costco this week. I tried the Rexton and walked around the store for several minutes, and found myself crying. I couldn't believe how much I've been missing in my world. I tried both the Jabra and the Rexton, and found that Rexton sounded more natural to me. I'm so excited to be able to enjoy hearing conversations again. I don't know why I waited so long.

I’ve been testing Phonak infinio 90 sphere for the last month and find they don’t really do what they claim for noises reduction. Considering the price difference this seems it may be a better option for my mild hearing loss. What do you think?

The Rexton worked wonderfully for a hearing aid. But, I have to unplug them, put in a different Bluetooth for a phone call or listen to KZbin (anything cell phone), then switch back to hearing aid. Might make that a consideration if you actually use a smart phone.

The last "Rexton" aids I purchased was the Kirkland K8's still running strong, perhaps stronger than my Kirkland K10's (phonak), Im looking to replace these perhaps will try the new rexton's I sweat a lot and most repairs are due to moisture in the reciever or inside the hearing aid. I like the water rating too. Thanks for a good review

Please help me with something. I watch your videos. Good job. I ordered some Rexton Reach aids from Costco today. My present aids do not have very comfortable domes. At about 4.49 in the video you describe the tips or domes as THE MOST COMFORTABLE AVAILABLE. Could you be more specific on what to ask for or what to order and give a link or something to the exact tip you refer to. The Costco fitter did not know what to give me. Thank you for a good job.

I got my first hearing aids 2 weeks ago, Rexton Reach. The fitter (head of the department) said none of the Rexton tips would work for me (my canals are too big), and he excused himself and came back with a pair of Philips open domes and that's what I'm wearing right now. Had my first adjustment session today, had the fitter create a new program for me and adjust one of the others. These really are a life changer for me.

I got the Rexton BiCore HA's at Costco in January, and have been pleasantly surprised at how good they are in normal situations and in noisy environments. I actually had an appointment with my hearing specialist at Costco today, to get a few adjustments and different domes that won't irritate my ear canals. I asked the rep about the new Rexton Reach, and what their experience with them has been so far. They said that for the most part, they haven't seen a big difference between the two Rexton aids, other than the fact that the Reach is future-proof in being able to be upgraded to Bluetooth LE/Auracast with a future firmware upgrade. Most of what the new Reach HA's are advertising, is already in the BiCore's.

I think this is fair feedback. If you are still in your trial period it might be worth an upgrade. Otherwise you are still in great technology using the BiCore model.

Great video, thanks I received my Rexton Reach and love them greatly. I don't know if I have to schedule an appointment at Costco for a "glitch" that I encountered today: I started to listen to a Audible book and the sound cuts on one ear for 1-2 seconds and comes back, then after a short time (+/- couple minutes) cuts again for the same ear or the other. I read that the previous Rexton had Bluetooth disconnects issues but I did not loose total Bluetooth connection. Have you heard of that issue with the Reach?
@EatMyOats
@EatMyOats 2 ай бұрын
I tried 4 android phones to try and get bluetooth working. One cell phone had that problem until the cell phone had an Android version upgrade. The bluetooth would loose connection if in my suit side pocket. All other bluetooth devices from Bose to $14 bluetooth set off of Amazon work flawlessly many meters away.

I recently had a hearing test performed at Costco. Overall the experience was pretty good. I haven’t decided which hearing aids to get just yet knowing that the Rexton was coming soon and also the Philips 9050 is due soon as well. I have been using an OTC hearing aid and is my very first hearing aids (Sony CRE-C10). I have been a very long time audiophile and musician. I have heard from others that the Rexton/Signia hearing aids offer better sound quality for music listening but have no personal experience with this I was wondering if you could offer any insight in this regard?
@HearSoundly

Interesting question! I don't have a definitive answer for you. I know they both have music settings that can be programmed by your hearing professional. How has the CRE-C10 been for you with music?
@krellman7
@krellman7 6 ай бұрын
@@HearSoundly The CRE-C10 has been pretty good, but could be better. I initially tried a pair of Lexie B1’s and feel the CRE-C10 is better. My actual overall experience with the CRE-C10 has been far better than the Lexie B1. I think most people that are either musicians or audiophiles would like to have some additional user adjustability through the app in the form of a graphic equalizer vs just a slide control labeled bass/treble. It is interesting to note that a colleague has hands on experience with the CRE-C10 and now has a pair of Signia Silk X and says the CRE-C10 sounds “tinny” in comparison. Certainly an interesting topic.

@@krellman7 I'm also a fellow musician (live performance), and a week ago had my first Costco hearing test, and chose the Rexton Reach to "test" after this and other reviews. I agree with your comment about the lack of a graphic equalizer in the app. As my audiologist was paging through screens, I'm pretty sure I saw a very detailed equalizer scroll by. I'm curious as to whether the Costco staff have access to that much detail. She told me that once I decide on going with the Rextons, then she would do a much more detailed adjustment. I have great lower frequency hearing, but a very sharp drop off in high frequencies beginning around 2K. My hope is that she can just boost the high frequencies for me, much like adjusting the EQ on a car stereo, or in a live monitor system. But I can't get any clear answers as to whether that can be done. My hope was to build a new listening program for live music that turns all artificial compression and noise suppression off, but simply boost the high frequencies. I would love to hear back from you as to what has occurred in your journey over the last 5 months since you posted. Thanks

I find the bluetooth functionality in this video not very helpful . Can the reach answer and hangup phone calls by tapping your ear? Can You have the microphones on the reach do 2 way audio streaming so I do not have to use the phone to talk to people. How easy is it to switch the hearing aids from iphone to ipad? Does it do it automatically or do you have to set it up ? It would be nice if you talked about this?

I've had good experiences with service at my local Costco hearing aid center. While I started with behind-the-ear units for 3 years, I'm currently wearing in-the-ear-canal hearing aids, and have not gotten used to the lower comfort level (including the sound quality of my own voice). I have an appointment next week to try behind-the-ear Rexton Reach hearing aids. I also think rechargeable batteries will be more convenient than the replaceable ones I've been using.

I have been wearing HAs for years. My current pair are Costco's Kirkland Signature 10s. I am looking for a new pair excel at boosting the clarity of 'soft talkers,' have an app that gives good control over sound quality, and works well with both my iPhone and iPad. I tried the Jabra Enhance Pro 20s from Costco and found that they didn't perform as well with soft talkers as my KS 10s, the app was limited and switching between iPhone and iPad was sometimes problematic. I love your channel and thanks for great information. The one thing that I disagree as first time experience, is that the Rexton BiCore L-20 are the worst HAs I ever tried. They sound just like a loud sound amplifier, quality sound needless to say is terrible, and the AI Assistant changes/reprograms the original program that an AuD would fit with. Feedback is terrible, and just awful devices over all. If the Reach are as awesome as the Signia Pure C&G 7-IX, then they will be one of the best of the best at a super low price. Very happy with that ❤🎉

I like my new Rextons however I’m not a fan of rechargeable hearing aids. My charger is just one more thing I have to remember to bring on trips. And if I forget it I’m out of luck the entire time I’m gone. And of course the new aids couldn’t use the old drier! I used to put them in the drier when I went to bed and they were ready to go when I got up. Now I need to put them in the drier first thing in the morning and the heat cycle is longer than the old ones. Quite frankly, I didn’t see much of a difference performance wise between the new and old version. I live 35 minutes from Costco and find there is some issue they need to help me about 3-4 times per year. The staff there is great. I had to see them today to replace the receiver on a pair that is only a couple of months old.

@@HearSoundly Got fitted with them on Wednesday. The fitting process went well. After we walked around the store doing some shopping while I was wearing them. I was amazed at how well I could hear the conversations of people around us and the sound was much more natural than I expected. I could even hear my wife when we separated some distance. This is going to take more time to get used to and I was having some upset stomach symptom the first couple of days that I hope is temporary. I have them paired with my iPhone and am learning the Rexton app and different programs the tech installed. I love the iPhone feature where Siri reads text and calendar notices to me. Streamed content and music sounds strange to me and not real happy with that. These are just first impressions with less than 12 hours of wear time.

@@HearSoundly It took about 4 days for the queasy stomach symptoms to go away and the feeling of having them in my ears. I tested them out in a busy restaurant with my wife sitting across from me. Started with the automatic program and it was ok but too busy with other noises around us. Next the iFocus 360 program and didn't like it. I found that the Automatic was best with the direction set to the narrowest front direction. I could clearly hear her and the competing noise was greatly reduced. At church on a Sunday I used the "Live Music" program. It gave a great balance of the vocals and music. The automatic tried on the voices too much. My own voice still sound "tinny" to me especially when I lower my head. Hearing with them at times makes me wonder "are they doing anything" and other times I can tell they are. I guess I'm still in the process of making them normal. I've never wore a hearing aid before so I can't compare them to anything else but I'm satisfied with them and happy I got them. I think Costco has done a good job so far. I run sound at times at Church and I'm sure the first week with them will be an ADVENTURE. I did hook up a sound pressure meter so I can tell how loud it really is as I don't trust myself with them yet. Definitely use the Live Music program unless I find something better. Oh, I still love that Siri talks my texts into my ears. But I get some look as I pause to listen to them. LOL

I'm not currently wearing hearing aids. I had a test done at Sam's Club and found out that I would benefit from them, but Sam's only sells Lucid hearing aids. So far I haven't found much information about Lucid hearing aids, but the reviews I have found seem to be a mixed bag. Why do hearing aid reviews discuss tech but not sound quality? I have Jabra’s (Resound One generation) and they sound best in “music” mode where most of the tech is turned off. I find that the tech such as voice isolation adds harshness. Honestly we need reviews that tell us about the sound quality of the device more than the tech.

Rexton fail: VERY DISSAPPOINTED I just got the Rexton Reach yesterday. . Costco no longer carries Phonak. *Issue 1: phone call functionality stinks. You have to hold the phone up to your mouth to talk to the other party! How stupid is that? hands free feature only works on iPhones. I have an S22 Ultra. *Issue 2: I love music. Streaming music quality is poor. Bass presence is just non existent. Phonak had reasonable sound quality for such a tiny speaker. I called Rexton, I called Phonak, I called Costco. There is no viable solution to the phone call problem (other then yet-another-device, the Sivantos Smart Mic). I regret this purchase.

I was curious about the phone call streaming abilities myself, but you've answered that question! I have KS10 and a Pixel Phone. I can carry on phone conversations with the phone in my pocket, or even in another room (which has twice led to people coming up to me and asking me if I was OK, as it looked like I was talking to myself😁). I'm also curious if when you are paired to the phone, and you get a phone call in the car while driving, if the hearing aids will automatically drop out and let you have the conversation through the car's speakerphone setup. Although, I'm Not sure if that's an HA function or a cellphone function.

Music quality can depend on the type of loss you have, the silicone dome style being used, and if a music program was added to your settings. Speech and music are very different signals, so listening to music in your speech program will not be very good. A music program will generally be able to handle higher input levels, use an omni-directional mic pattern, and have extended bandwidth out to 9500-10,000hz. Also if you have more loss in your mid and high frequencies, you'll get a trebly type of response from your hearing aids. Regarding domes, a more closed style will keep more low frequencies in your ear and may improve your music experience and phone calls.

I love the sound of mine, especially in noisy environments. There are a couple of things that really bother me. First is the overall sound and volume of Apple connected devices. The volume is VERY low, no matter where you set the I-device. The app also needs an equalizer function because the sound of both music and voices is very thin. To say the least, I'm not at all happy with the streamed sound. Secondly, having come from the KS-10's, the fact that you can't connect directly to Bluetooth devices is maddening, let alone MULTIPLE devices. Why should I have to buy a "smart" mic just to connect to a very mature Bluetooth set of devices is beyond me. As hearing devices, these things are amazing! As multi-functional audio devices, the KS-10'a were light years ahead. I used to enjoy using my iPhone, seamlessly switching to streaming audio from my iPod, and then watching KZbin videos on my notebook. Now, I have to use ear buds to do what my KS-10's used to handle with ease. Yes, I will keep the REACH HA's for conversational hearing, but I know that these are not the final solution.

Sound adjustment using only two frequencies is not very helpful when we have very specific data where our losses occur. Some final “tweaks” , this being a human experience, maybe advantageous for tech savvy people. My background is engineering but I’m old school and some of the new technology is frivolous at best. A menu driven system should be fine for over half the users and for the remainder, they will have the grand children dial in the final solution. “Grandma? What’s louder? Sound A or Sound B, grandma: definitely sound C”. Can be a real eye opening experience for the both of them. I have had 4 or 5 pair of doctor or technologist prescribed hearing aids. My hearing goes from a solid D- to C-, so I’m still missing a lot. Honest, my wife threatens to leave me occasionally because I can’t understand her voice. Might be cheaper than another pair of aids especially if it’s a cochlear device and you have a usb port on the back of your head. Good look for Frankenstein. A great source for another permanent infection induced in me by the medical community.
