Wow this series went down fast after TFA. I’m one of the few that didn’t mind Rey’s superhuman force abilities in the force awakens, because I thought all of that would be explained later in the The Last Jedi. One of my greatest Star Wars disappointments is lack of Character development of Finn. I’m a African American without a racist bone in my body and I make a point to bring up my two boys the same way, but I really did hope to see Finn develop into a strong force user. I think he was a strong moral character who would have been a very positive message for kids that looks like him. To me it was clear in TFA that Finn was force sensitive, but Ryan J’s vision was just wrong in every way. That may seem strong but it’s true. My vision for the movie’s second act after TFA was Snoke should have remained the main Character villain. Rey should have been the child of Han and Leia. They could have explained them not knowing about her, because she was told by doctors she died at child birth. Kylo should have finished his training with Snoke, and while training with Snoke he discovers a sith holocrone that shows him the origins of Snoke, reviling that he is the first successful body transfer of Darth Sidiuos. Finn wakes up and meets up with Maz to help him understand how to use of the force. Remember Maz is the first to realize that Finn is force sensitive. She actually shows Finn a way to leave in TFA, knowing full well the force would bring him back. Meanwhile Kylo continues to connect with Rey, progressively intriguing her with the dark side. Finally when Finn and Rey meets back up Finn’s force abilities, though not as strong as Rey’s, gives him the sense the Rey is different a little more edgy and angry. Finn also doesn’t mention to Rey he has been training in the force. She later tells Finn she must go to do more training. As Finn and Poe goes on a mission for Leia for a package she says may help them win the war, Finn feels a disturbance in the force during the mission. Not knowing what the disturbance was he and Poe traveled to the planet where Luke was living believing Rey was there just to find Luke by himself. Finn explains to Luke that she told him she was going to get more training when Luke looks at Finn with a fearful look and says she is getting more training and that they all was in great danger. Luke frantically goes back to his cabin were he’s grabbing his belongings and explains to them that they must leave and fast. Finn ask Luke why, as Luke say I’ll explain later. As Luke, Finn and Poe returns to Leia’s ship they find that the rebel fleet under attack by the first order. After boarding her ship they enter the ship to battered, and sad faces. As they enter the main bridge to find Doctor’s surrounding Leia with a single lightsaber wound though her stomach. Leia sees Luke and says it’s about time you visit your old sister. They immediately began to communicate telepathically through the force. She tells him that she has already ordered the crew not to mention to Finn that the lightsaber wound was not that of Kylo’s, but of Rey’s. Luke has the look of concern in noting that he can no longer stand idle by. She also tells Luke to not tell Finn about Rey until he is ready, for his anger could lead to him going to the dark side. She then looks a Poe and tells him that with all the trouble that he’s caused her that she couldn’t have better companion when it comes getting the job done and that he would be taking her place as General. And then she looks at Finn with a smile on her face and a tear in his eye and she says, the force is strong with you. It’s going to have to be, because my brothers life and this galaxy depends on it. She says “did you know I was captured by the empire once. My cell number was 2187. I now know what I have to do. I’m about to give you 2 gifts, one you’re holding now”, as Finn looks at the case him and Poe just acquired. The other gift is all of my force strength. Finn says, but why? “Because you’re going to need it. Leia say”. Leia then puts her hand on Finn’s head shuts her eyes and disappears. Poe looks at Finn and says do you feel any different. Finn says I don’t feel anything. Then he looks down at the box, almost confused to how he would open it, because the box had no visible latches. Luke extends a had hand toward the box, and suddenly a clinking sound occurs. Finn look down and opens the box to find a lightsaber, laying in box. Maz comes on to the bridge and adjust her scopes and begins to laugh. Very fitting indeed, she say. She goes on to say the lightsaber in which you possess is that of a powerful Jedi knight that goes buy the name of Master Mace Windu. As he ignites it’s to display it’s purple glow. All in this is fulfilling the prophecy of Snoke telling Kylo that, if Luke Skywalker returns the new Jedi will rise.

@@Gpimp642 exactly! I knew Rey has changed in the Rise of the Skywalker and the way Ret was towards Finn like he was just nothing to her but just a friend.
