@GiveWaveStudios8 жыл бұрын
Titania ... I used a contact cement called Barge ... here's a link ... amzn.to/2dg4G15 ... If I get another shoe conversion commission I'll be sure to record some footage and post the process up ^_^ ... hope this helped !

Do you currently make these boots still? Ponzu has these out of stock until late September, and I'm looking to get into rebel legion. Would you be able to make these to the standards for possible approval?
@GiveWaveStudios4 жыл бұрын
I would not be able to make these at all, The fabric i used to make these has been discontinued for years now unfortunately ...
@SarahSunbeemz8 жыл бұрын
This is awesome! What kind of glue did you use to adhere the fabric to the uggs?

AMAZING. CAN YOU TELL ME THE EXACT FABRIC( THE COLOR OR NAME) YOU USE AND WHERE TO FIND IT . THANK YOU. MY WIFE AND I ARE GETTING READY FOR STAR WARS CELEBRATION ORLANDO 2017( I AM GOING AS KYLO AND HER AS REY )
@GiveWaveStudios7 жыл бұрын
OPTIMUS VADER oh man, i wish i knew ... i had gotten it from the clearance section of a local Jo-Ann Fabrics ... only thing i remember about it is that it was a type of upholstery fabric 😞 ... Enjoy celebration 🙌🏽

Dude. DUDE. Totally doing this! My attempt with some cowboy-ish boots just isn't gonna work!

+Superhero DIY Yeah man, do it up ... I used Barge's contact cement to glue everything together !
@SuperheroDIY8 жыл бұрын
+GiveWave Studios Oh cool thanks for that! I was wondering how that stuck down so nicely!
@SuperheroDIY8 жыл бұрын
+GiveWave Studios I plan to go look for some of that kind of fabric tonight - can you tell me if that's a kind of wool or something? Or does it have a certain name? Or is it more like carpet for flooring? Thanks!
@GiveWaveStudios8 жыл бұрын
+Superhero DIY oh man ... it's def an upholstery type of fabric ... I'd found it at my local Jo-Ann's in their clearance section ...

Nice! I just found some stuff. Now I've gotta wait for the cheap boots I ordered from China to arrive! They had no winter boots at Wal-Mart anymore :(. Definitely going to use this tutorial when they get here though, thanks for posting it!

Givewave May I ask do you feel this could be done for mens Boots? Love your Work Some amazing talent way to go...
@GiveWaveStudios8 жыл бұрын
cheers bruv ^_^ ... but yeah I believe the process is pretty compatible with a multitude of footwear, you just need to be comfortable with the look of the base shoe knowing that its close enough to what you need it to be so that by the time you're done with the mod it looks that much more like what you were trying to go for ... for example I found some roller blading inserts after i made these that had a silhouette much closer to the the look of Rey's boots :p
@BelieveYouCanInspire8 жыл бұрын
Thanks for that insight I hope to look into it more i would still love to do a REY Cosplay! Thanks GiveWave Studios

BTW, are you not selling them anymore? I checked Etsy but couldn't find them :/
@GiveWaveStudios8 жыл бұрын
I did take them down yes, had sold out ... I have one more pair that'll be putting up next week ... it'll be a size 10 so check the etsy store in the next few days it should be up ^_^
@kristina38396 жыл бұрын
hiya! what is your etsy link? Also, how would someone without the heavy duty machines, fasten some of the items as you've done? Trying to last min do a costume >_< lol!
@GiveWaveStudios6 жыл бұрын
The only 2 machines i used for these were a skiver { used the shave down thick leather strips } ( you can avoid that one by using thin leather from the start, or purchase a hand held one from Tandy Leather or Amazon ) ... second machine was a foot press riveter ( you can avoid that one also by just using contact cement to secure the leather to the fabric, or once again purchase a $25 manual version from amazon or tandy leather ) ... hope this helped ^_^ ... oh and i updated the video description with more info on where to find my work, including etsy store link ... good luck with your build, Cheers!

Where can I purchase these actually boots...
@GiveWaveStudios7 жыл бұрын
Falicia Guidry the finished product sold a long time ago ... i only made 2 pairs ... but the base is just some walmart knock off uggs if you wanna make your own 👌✨
@lisastylezthacosmobarber41217 жыл бұрын
GiveWave Studios where did you get the fabric n leather from.... You should be a dear n make another pair for me... 😉😉😉🤗🤗🤗🙂🙂☺☺😊😊😊
@GiveWaveStudios7 жыл бұрын
Falicia Guidry lol i hated that project 😅 ... only reason i made 2 is cuz i had some left over fabric ... the fabric was serendipitously found at joan's fabrics in a sale rack, so not even sure they still carry it ... leather was from tandy leather ... ended up using the money i made from both to buy the actual official pozu boots Rey wears in the film 😅
@lisastylezthacosmobarber41217 жыл бұрын
GiveWave Studios OK.. Im looking up fabrics now hopefully when I go out tomorrow I'll find something close to it... Why did you hate the project you did a great job
@GiveWaveStudios7 жыл бұрын
Falicia Guidry don't get me wrong i loved the results😅 even tho all the essential parts are featured the process was a lot more time consuming and tedious than the video makes it seem lol
