The best part? This is exactly how the scene should have gone down. This was Rey’s first time handling a gun, she barely knew how to turn it on. I don’t think she has even used a ranged weapon before (we don’t see her with a grappling hook or anything), meaning she should not have a strong concept of aim and how it works. She is facing a soldier trained from an incredibly young age to be accurate with a blaster. And that doesn’t even take into account that a pistol like the one Rey is using, especially when used in only one hand, is inherently considerably less accurate than a blaster with a scope and held with two hands like the one the stormtrooper is holding. But of course, Rey being Rey, she nails 2 out of her 3 first ever shots at a really long distance, one on a moving target. Complete and utter bullshit.
