A draw would have been legit and made people mad still but more accurate.

I think Reyes also had the 4th. Just because jones got him down didnt merit the round. He did nothing with it, and Reyes had the better of the striking exchanges. Jones can only point to the 5th as the only round he clearly won, but only because Reyes thought he had it won and was stalling for the win. That's why he was on his bicycle and circling the cage. Reyes definitely won 3 rounds. Possibly even 4, the 4th is being overlooked as Jones' for a BRIEF takedown with absolutely nothing done with it. That makes you forget Reyes pieces him up that round too? Jones lost no way to claim he won more than 2 rounds.

I personally dont think the second round was as clear cut to Reyes as most people think. I had rounds 1/3 to Reyes and 4/5 to Jones with the 2nd being the deciding factor. I watched the 2nd round again to see if I was wrong and I still think its a 50/50. Reyes mainly only threw ones to the body of Jones to try and keep him away as Jones was always coming forward with having ring control most of the time. The only few exceptions were the exchange in the first minute where Reyes had him on the back foot and came at him a quite a few blows, most of which if you look back had missed or didn't really have any significant effect. Jones himself threw a lot of ones but to the head instead of the body like Reyes. At the end of the day this round could've gone either way, I wouldn't be mad if you picked Reyes but I don't think it was as clear cut. I had Jones winning the 2nd though personally.

Think he would do really well at HW, Stipe doesn't use his size and reach at all, watch the way stipe throws his punches, largely a picket fighter. Francis would most likely ko him though.

I had it 2-2 going into the 5th which imo Jon took. However, it's testament to the terrible points system that we're even having this discussion. For me a 10-9 should be used for a feeling-out round or one where the fighters are near enough equal, with maybe the slightest advantage to one of them based on octagon control or something of the sort. 10-8 should be used when there's a clear winner of the round without it being total domination or nearly finished, and 10-7 should be when there are multiple knockdowns, a lot of damage dealt, submissions nearly secured or the fight being close to stopped. As Rogan says the whole time the current system only works affectively in Boxing because there are enough rounds (12) to really eek out the closer details instead of just 3 or 5. Cruz put it best in the post-fight analysis, the unified rules should be made or at least aided in their construction by former fighters and experts.

Some people saying jones won because only he chased dominick. He pushed him back so he is dominant but if you can not hit, if you are not effective you cant win. Advancing should give you striking chance normally but only thing happened was reyes was countering jones first 3 rounds and first minutes of 4th round

Also, reyes did miss alot of his strikes and the numbers show jon was more accurate. That plays a factor. I also rewatched and reyes did miss jon at times I thought connected upon watching live.

The game was rigged when I see Rogan and Dominick commenting during the fight that was a close fight, and the judges could go either, that made my MMA sense spike, he knew they would give Jones a win , whatever the fight.

I agree to an extent but also it's part of their job to make the fights more entertaining and a big part of that is hiding their knowledge somewhat to make it more exciting for a wider audience. It would be boring if after the third round all they would say is 'well nothing matters now unless reyes gets knocked out because this fight is already decided'. Reyes didn't really land that much in the beginning of the round 2. he missed a lot and got blocked. don't judge a fight only by the fight stat they are not always 100% right.

The stats bear out that Jones had the more meaningful action in the fight. I don't know why people seem to think land 14 more punches at a 43% rate somehow is more impactful than 14 less punches but landing at a 62% rate. That means that Jones had better defense and offense. I think casual viewers just saw Reyes throwing punches in volume as him "winning." Was a close fight but Jones did enough to win.

Reyes won that fight by split decision in my opinion. That was bullshit. However Reyes certainly proved he is a fighter to watch for in the future. Quick, aggressive, pulls no punches, and was able to compete with arguably the best light heavyweight EVER. What an absolutely solid performance by Dominic last night. As for Jones, it's clear hes not as clean sweeping in this division as he was in the past, and hes certainly no longer in his prime.

I agree with you. Unfortunately there was a couple of bad decisions on the card. Reyes was out striking rounds 1 to 3. He DEFINITELY won 1 and 2 but what many don't realise is Reyes was walking backwards all the way through round 3 so that may have been a 10 9 to jon Jones. But honestly I think reyes came back round 4 aswell so I still think reyes won. I was so annoyed tbf but it sets up Israel Adesanya vs Jones really well. Great video btw Edit: I've been on the wrong side of kickboxing decisions due to me being a counter attacker (walking backwards) it made reyes look a little bit like he was swinging for the fence but after watching the fight twice I think it was a draw
