The Mazda BT-50 is a low-key pickup truck that doesn't get as much exposure as other utes, like the Hilux, the Ranger, or the Isuzu DMAX. The Mazda BT50 is based off the previous generation Ford Ranger, and is the last holdout in Mazda's stable from an era when Ford had a partnership with Mazda. Now that the new Mazda BT50 has been unveiled, and it's based off the new Isuzu DMAX, Mazda Philippines decided to give the outgoing BT-50 a relevant final exit by partnering with the Katala Foundation to raise awareness on the Philippine Pangolin. The Mazda BT50 4x4 is one of the lowest priced 4x4s in the local market, making it a highly compelling value for money pick up truck.
It may be based off an older chassis, but Mazda updated the interior and exterior of this truck to make it compete even with the newer trucks in the market. Even the older Ford duratorq engine with 3.2L and 197hp is more than capable on both paved roads and on the trails.
