Thank you so much for all these ideas and the pictures to illustrate. Very inspiring. Apart from the first one: I never got the thing about having so many pillows on a bed. Whether in a 5 stars hotel or at home, these just bother me so much as I have to remove them all to keep just the ones I need to rest and sleep. And what a pain to tidy the room!

I agree with you. They are second on the list of horrid things. The first thing is dolls on the bed, you know, the ones with huge crinolines.

I’ve seen you using and mentioning strip lighting in quite a few videos. I’d love to see a video focussing specifically on these; choosing, size (length), placing, installing, and evaluating whether it’s worth replacing an existing light.

I have a watercolour of an industrious sea harbour where I used to live. A pastel picture of the Oxford skyline done by a friend’s mother and a beautiful dish made by a potter I used to work with. Then at Christmas I get a montage of cards out which I’ve collected over the years and have been painted by friends following art courses in retirement. All lovely snowy scenes of their houses! All valued so much more than commercial tatt. If you’re not so lucky with creative friends, you could always get a banana and tape it to the wall. 😉

@leonr.43809 күн бұрын
As a person who does not like to have a pendant light hanging above themselves while sleeping, it is really tough for me to think of ideas for which ceiling light to pick for my bedroom. For exampe, using only two ambient lights without a ceiling light, makes the bedroom too dark to properly find things while getting up at a dark winter morning. So I would really appreciate new ideas!

Depending on your room layout, maybe the centre of the room where the light is hanging might be above your feet, not above your head.

:10:30 the best thing i did was convince my landlord to allow me to put in long blackout curtains with a opaque white one to help filter light
@mark92949 күн бұрын
You had to convince them? Can’t you put in window treatments at your discretion?
@MrGoalie20129 күн бұрын
@@mark9294 I could have yes at my own discretion, but my windows are almost floor to ceiling, double pane height, so there was no exposed drywall to put drywall screws into. IT had to be drilled into the wooden casing that housed the windows. He had no problem with it; he just would have him come and install them while I helped. That way, if anything went wrong, I wasn't liable, and he had more control over the placement on the wood above the windows.
@irmar7 күн бұрын
"Open your windows once in a while"? LOL! Windows should be opened for at least 15 minutes every day to change the air in the room. Of course who am I to speak, I live in Greece, not in Canada. However I do that even when it's snowing outside. We shouldn't breathe stale air all day.

Why do you want your bedroom to feel expensive? Why does this channel make good content, then always circle back to how to look expensive or how to avoid looking cheap? It's instagram addicted nonsense. If you find yourself ever asking if stuff looks cheap, it does (and you are not wealthy)
@TheFlyingBookworm10 күн бұрын
There is perceived quality to expensive versus cheap things. I think he merely means making your space look 'elevated', appearing 'high quality', or feeling 'luxurious'.
