NEW ESU HYDRAULIC DIESEL CLASS KG230H

REYNAULDS.COM presents another episode of ON TRACK WITH REY. "On Track With Rey is a bi-monthly product review series. Rey will pick his favorite new models from the store and do a complete review of the model. For this episode, Rey picked the new ESU HO Scale German class KG230 hydraulic diesel locomotives. These new diesel locomotives are packed with new innovations and technology including synchronized exhaust smoke and sound technology which replicates the prototypical diesel start-up sequence. When the diesel starts up, it bellows out a cloud of diesel smoke as the engine revs up, this is simply an incredible feature for a model. As with all ESU locomotives, the housing, chassis, and gear-box are all metal. One of the best features of any ESU locomotive is they are equipped with a Loksound 5.0 decoder and designed to operate on 2-Rail DCC, and on Marklin's 3-Rail AC digital systems. The model is equipped with a powerful motor with two extra large flywheels which make this locomotive not only powerful but very smooth, it crawls at such a slow speed you can barely see it move. The sound quality on this model is outstanding because ESU uses high-quality speakers with specially designed sound capsules for the best possible sound quality. The sound file loaded on the decoder is the original sound sequences of a class KG230B.
ESU has also done a great job with the locomotives lighting system. It naturally has directional white/red headlights that can be turned on and off, a high beam headlight function of top
headlight, cab lighting, engine compartment interior lights, under carriage illumination, and illuminated driver’s console.

Thanks for a nice video! Is one of the axles of the locomotive articulated so that the locomotive can cope with some difficult rails?

the locos can navigate the smallest to largest points and double slips without issue. They have built a in capacitor to ensure continuous running. They are DC/AC and three rail.

I've got two of these, both with less than an hours running. One has died, completely! the other works intermittently. Cant seem to find any guides to take the loco apart(if I did it would violate the warranty anywhere). My issue is having to 'return these to Germany from the UK when ESU have retailers here that could facilitate repairs exchange. Perhaps ESU could assist?

These little locos have so many electronic features that it does not surprise me that some issues occur. I would write ESU in Germany for assistance.

My loco's cab light and headlights are not working suddenly.

Try to reset the decoder or send the model in for repair.
