@@hex1044 Technically you still don't, the problem is that Battlebots enforces a high barrier of entry simply because they want high-tech bots with advanced design and construction techniques for show purposes. There's a yearly competition here in Orlando where they have a full-on Sportsman Heavyweight class where you can just enter whatever as long as it's not a spinner (due to safety concerns with the extremely old arena they use).

I didn't realise Sewer Snake, Last Rites, Megabyte, Ziggy etc were so old! I had assumed they showed up on the scene maybe 8 to 10 years after Comedy Central BB ended; not like 2 to 4 years...
