Remember if your enemy does something stupid, don't interrupt them. Ukraine is flooding Kursk with their greatest elite units just to get vaporized. This 2nd phase of the blunder is already over and Russia started to recapture even that 1 stree, 2 treelines and a field what Ukraine captured while losing tens of armored vehicles and hundreds or even thousands of soldiers. most military analysts are not very good. Look at people, who say, Ukraine has the smaller population, so they will lse. The USSR had a boder with Afghanistan. When they invaded, Afghanistan just had aound 10 million people. Afghanistan still won. Imo it's a prime example of how Russia can lose this war.

I've read that they aren't even elite troops but criminals taken out of prison... just as Russia did. So no costs, no need to feed and no cares about them returning. Also demonstrated by their extra-curricular activities. All in return for some Russian technical knowhow (however good that may be based on what we've seen of Russian tech) that may or may not be given since Putin doesn't keep his word.

Waste? Definitely NOT a waste. Kim Jong got billions of dollars in food, tech, weapons, supplies and knowledge (e.g. Russia will soon transfer satellite know-how as part of their deal) in return for 10,000 NK soldiers who were doing nothing but taking up space, meals and who were going to retire anyway (due to lack of wars) in his country. I'd say this was a fantastic deal and not any waste at all - wouldn't you?

There are bad things happening for Ukraine elsewhere, but if they can take more strategically significant Russian settlements and force more Russian retreats before January 20, they are going to be in a strong bargaining position and might even be able to tell Trump where to stuff it.

The worst thing are the constant missile and drone attacks against civilian targets. Everywhere else it's pretty much just normal defense and retreating one step back once the russians managed to flatten the area. Of course still a brutal and bloody fight. But nothing unexpected, as far as I can tell. Btw. I did a quick calculation. With the current rate of advance, russia will have conquered all of Ukraine in ... 160 years. That's not a typo. Just look up the numbers and check for yourself.
