Clean and pristine, it's number 15 on the Seventeen survey this week. Compare to American Bandstand's version of this song here; • American Bandstand La ... They might dance better in Philly, but there's more room for the cameramen to operate in Ames, and it shows in the quality of the production.

God were these kids so fresh and clean-looking - not like we were back in the hippie 60's!

This was at a time that local television stations had dance shows patterned after "American Bandstand ".

This is the only song I can remember from this time period. I must have been three years old and my parents used to play the 45. It wasn't only like another time, it was like another planet. My memories from back then are all in black and white for some reason. Perhaps because it was before color television.

"La Dee Dah" is a song from Skate or Leap Your Voice!, sung by Micah Solusod and Laura Bailey as Soul Evans and Maka Albarn, who were being forced the duo in front of everyone.

This song is an obvious cha cha but most of these dancers are oblivious to this! AB dancers would know what to do with this song!

This was film or very early tape. The A.B. clip is a kinescope. Poor quality to begin with plus it looks like a copy of a copy of a copy. The Seventeen clips are decent quality.

Watching the video again you'll notice that most these kids are doing the plain rock-n roll steps. Some are doing a somewhat version of the Cha-lypso very badly. But then again, at least they were dancing.

Some...of the fashions in the 50's and early 60's were pretty cool but NOT the really ugly frames on the glasses a few of the girls were wearing. Yikes.
