I have been copying Eddie since the day I first heard him in clubs throughout LA county. I've also seen a ton of guys here on KZbin trying to do his technique(s). You are by far the go-to guy when it comes to Eddie. Nobody compares. When I want to relearn something from my hero, I am coming here from now on. Thanks for pouring your heart into this you can tell you do...

Robert Im a bday boy on 8-2-2022 57 years young. Started playing at 16 played strictly acoustic for 14 years although I was a Union Ironworker in Cleve Oh, I played lots when not working,until on 3-28-2000 I was knocked off the Iron injurying my spinal cord,21 years later I finally was able to pick up a guitar again, my children started playing my old acoustics and after awhile Nicholas at SweetWater hooked em up with some pleked Schecters. I tried them and was able to play electric not acoustic but Im back. I missed so much learning over the years I had LPs no Utube ... So I do appreciate these tips. Thanks Bro !

Edward like Bonham were genius not for their complexity(though they could shine in that dept when needed) but for their mastery of the difficult Swing. To me, as a drummer who had studied with Joe Morello and Joe Porcaro, Swing profiency is big key to making your playing fun, interesting and memorable.

Very cool. Just curious what gauge of strings do you use on the Franky? Just the standard 9-42 like EVH used? What brand?
@MoGumboFukUTubeForChngngMyName2 жыл бұрын
SRV used 12s… you can string your guitar right up with them and you’ll still sound like you. Stevie could play 9s on a $50 guitar and Eddie could play 12s on a $50 guitar… and Eddie would sound like Eddie and Stevie would sound like Stevie. People spend too much time trying to work up a “tone” instead of learning to play the guitar.
@motrock22 жыл бұрын
@@MoGumboFukUTubeForChngngMyName Some people have 2 hobbies. We play guitar and learn music. AND; we are gear heads and love to get tones of our favorite guitar players. Just so happens I have multiple hobbies. You shouldn't automatically assume; just because we ask a gear related question, that we not "learning to play the guitar".

At the beginning of “Everybody wants some” he does a couple power chords and then does some weird guitar noise stuff. The first two times it’s like, some kind of weird harmonics. But the third one is this high bend that goes down and down with a lot of reverb. Very cool. I’d like to know how to do that.
