Handy tip to avoid accidentally dropping cans under a vent... put something else in that space instead! Put items you aren't going to sell but don't use that often, like spare suit batteries there. Or your stack of repair patches. It's a pretty handy life tip tbh, don't try to keep something free if you want to avoid a certain thing there, fill the space with something else. Don't like the butter getting too frozen when it gets pushed to the back of the fridge? Stick your cheese behind it. etc Edit: doh, you said yourself later. :D

36:05 - If I remember right... it just dumps purchased goods in the first free space it can find starting from the top left. So if you put that corner of your zone in empty space, then buy something, it'll get put there first. An important lesson in making sure your zones are the correct size.

I don't think the theme is so much a problem, but it can easily be triggered far too early to cope with if you don't deliberately avoid it.

8:13 wish I thought of this myself when starting out. Ship's hold full of valuable salvage (most with 3-4 $s), and KLeg on the oposite side of the planet, relative to my position. Set the ship's bwaring to near-skim the planet, and thrust to about 250m/s followed by autotask to maintain and repair. After what felt like just a couple minutes, I thought to check my position in relation to KLeg, and turned out I had passed it by almost 12 hours of flight-time (according to my nav station's instruments, still going for 250m/s). I did not take into account I'd set my game speed to max... Safe to say, I had to reload, or chance my survival flying back. I opted to try flying, and did the exact same mistake twice 🤣

Oh my goodness you drifted in to the deep dark black beyond! Yes, that little trick is really helpful, its sort of like plot planning but with objects rather than waypoints

@@Rhadamant this was how my first char died, learned a lot from that run and my second. 9 days in on my (previously mentioned) 4th character who's strong&fit (3rd one died cause of the gambling ship during char creation. That thing is a death-trap for anyone not paying attention 🤣 ). Been having a blast with the game so far, thanks again for showcasing this one, Rhad ❤

Pumps and cans at output are so dangerous, because it can just happen that a character drops it there. In my opinion uninstalled ones should not be filled.

Just saying, but it is better not to extend a zone outside a ship, because if you buy something on station it could be deposited outside your ship, and it is not easy to retrieve it.

In the in game lore Earth suffered from the Ablation Cascade where orbiting stuff smashed into enough other orbiting stuff to create a cloud of deadly shrapnel debris that nobody can go to Earth for like thousands of years until all that debris orbit decays.
