Hi All, this is going to have to go in the "redo" file at the end of 365's. Sorry about that! I just got a confirm that this is Epipremnum pinnatum. Identified by the pin-holes along the midrib, (which I think you can see if you look at this full screen). When I received this, it was merely a stem and small leaf, so the seller may have unintentionally sold this to me as R. decursiva. Real bummer, especially because I had imported this in. Sorry for any misleading! But hopefully that helps clarify it.

Hey Summer! Don't worry about the mix up! In Australia a plant was just mass released as Epipremnum Pinnatum, when it is in actual fact R. decursiva. Some mix up at the TC lab. They still haven't fixed the mistake, even though it has been identified correctly now.

@@rosstronics it cracks me up every time I see one those mislabeled little guys, because I would think a rhaphidophora would generally be more desirable than an epipremnum to a lot of consumers! I guess they probably didn't want to order more labels 😅

@@rosstronics I just commented the same. I didn't realise the reason for it though. Its so confusing when every pic is of the wrong plant. B***ings have just started selling the real EP now so hopefully it will all right it's self.

@nasser Jooda I'm trying desperately to get my cebu blue to mature by wrapping it around a branch in front of an Eastern window. My decursiva is very mature with 5 splits per leaf and growing 2 inches plus 1 leaf per month! It was a steal for 50 bucks at Brian's Botanicals, Summer should definitely check him out sometime he's the nicest guy ever

I have a whole bunch of R. decurvisa and I am in CA if you want one sent to you. I am a grower and bought them as plugs from a fern vendor.

Mine has no splits but did give me a beautiful new leaf last fall. I propagated it and I love the look of a single leaf in a pot all alone. My husband makes stunningly beautiful wooden pots and the look of this single leaf propagation looks stunning in the pot. I love this easy and tolerant plant.

I am from Assam, which is wgere it's native to and you can literally see the real decursivas(since this was misidentified) growing like crazy everywhere.

This has also been a particulary slow plant for me. I rooted a stem with one leaf last year... and yeah. It is still one leaf 😂 Hopefully they grow well for both of us 💚

Mine was labeled E. Pinnatum. It’s an older plant, the original growth was cut back, and what I have now is the newer growth. It has both younger and older leaves, all a deeper green and glossier than what you have here, no fenestrations on the new leaves. The older leaves are mostly 3 lobes. I have only had it a few weeks, and it’s put out one leaf with two new ones on the way. Maybe growing faster because even though the original part of the plant was cut back, it’s got a pretty mature, even rootbound root system. I have no idea what it is…but I really love it. Trying to decide on the next step, pot up with a moss pole, I guess - though I might wait till spring.

Wow Summer, another interesting plant, and crazy about the mix up, but thanks for the clarification, if I ever get the chance to get one of these I for sure will. See you tomorrow.

Hello Summer, my plant has made 2 fenestrated leaves in two weeks in a meter away from a southwest-facing window, in Helsinki, Finland. I was thinking, what a fast grower!

hello... I would like to ask how did you bring plants from another country to your country? did you get some sort of certificate to allow bringing plants into your country? how it does work?
@velvetleaves64424 жыл бұрын
Here in Australia, Rhaphidophora Decursiva is often sold as Epiperenium Pinnatum. If you look at Google or Instagram they both come up under EP. Actually on google its all RD and it makes it so confusing. So it's nice to see them confused backwardly for once. Its hard to get bit right all the time. And then you feel silly when it's pointed out on social media. We have all been there. 💜

Question Summer, how can I know if it is R. Decursiva or E. Pinatum cuz both looks the same to me. Both posses pinholes and fenestrate given a pole and more light. Please help.
@iamjaviervillegas3 жыл бұрын
I have the same exact question.. I just bought a 6” one that was labelled RD and now I’m not sure what I bought! Might be too young to notice any pinholes near the midrib so I’m very confused.

I'm from the Philippines and we have this too. There's a lot of these on big old trees. Tried to get a three leaf cutting and planted directly on soil. Do you think it's better to root it first on water before soil?

Hello Summer, since you mentioned you brought this plant back from Thailand, could you expand on what it takes to import plants from outside the United States? P.S. Would love to see this information potentially even discussed in a video if you have the time. 🌱
@angelmartin73104 жыл бұрын
Please do a video on Decursiva :) I can't get enough of mine, it puts on 1 new huge leaf per month. It is mature with 5 splits per leaf. I live in Indiana and keep mine 4 feet back from a western window. I fertilize it with a dilute fish fertilizer every watering. It puts on 2 inches of trunk/stem per every new leaf so mine has already 6 inches taller in just a few months. I would call this a pretty fast grower IF fertilized regularly. I have mine on a burlap wrapped twisted tree branch) and it has rooted into and around it pretty well already. As a palm tree collector, this is my favorite aroid!

That sounds amazing.. I just bought a 6” one & need to pot it soon. How high of a totem do you recommend to start with? I’m actually now confused if I in fact bought a Rhaphidophora decursiva or an Epipremnum pinnatum. Thx!
