I’ve been trying to propagate mine - very susceptible to root rot in my experience. I think I have a few that are taking off in my sphagnum moss prop box. They did not have aerial roots (don’t ask why…just don’t ask!), so that was less than ideal. Shout out to the janky support sticks. That set up is next level! Also, the shirt is fire.

Yeah they can be tricky to root. It always surprises me for such a straight forward plant, that it's propagation is not easier tbh. Thanks on the short comment 😊 one of my faves 😀

I heard somewhere that the botanical ones, even when they climb, have longer internodes and a slightly different shape of the leaf blade - more round, fuller ... mine loves when i forget about her :) and I keep saying that I have a water hand and it shouldn't be so GOOD with me (hahaha) I found a way. it is in the bedroom and there are plants that like to be forgotten (scindpsusy and monstery)

Yep definately one that likes to be forgotten, I do the same with mine all the forgotten plants go in the same place 😅😅😅 Ahhh very interesting, thanks for sharing on the botanical ones 🙏😊

I have this RT I got it as a tiny plant and started to grow well but developed yellowing leaves then brown spots. I decided to cut the top growth to root it, but not sure why it developed the brown spots. Maybe I overwatered it or it or it was too near the sunlight 🤔 your plant looks really healthy. Does the compost need to dry out before watering or does it need to remain slightly moist?
@Houseplantygoodness3 жыл бұрын
I find with mine I need to let it dry out fully then water, I wait for the leaves to go a bit limp then water and I find it prefers it that way 😊

@@Houseplantygoodness thankyou I will let them dry out and change the compost mix and add more perlite to help drainage

One of my favourite, and sometimes fastest growing plants I have. Only drawback for me is that it tends to get yellow leaves fairly easily

Mine was gorgeous and full when I brought it home, but I missed the scale hiding among the foliage, fought and fought them and finally gave up, uprooted it, scraped the nasty bugs off treated and re-treated, and after it dropped a bunch of leaves from the trauma, I chopped it up completely and now it’s sitting in various bottles of water around the house waiting for roots to grow. 🤷🏻♀️

Yes I have heard of this happening to a few people. When they root in water I find placing the stem on top of the soil (or growing media) and burying the roots, helps speed up the process 😊
