@@stanflahaut1893 you could probably find a few. He is easily one the best mainstream guitarists of the 90s on. Does.he compare to guys like Page and Hendrix no? But he's definitely a good guitarist.

@@themistoklestheodosopoulos6253 he is not just good, he got mad skills and don't use them just to showoff andonly use it when necessary, go try snow and then talk to me... that shit is funny ridiculous but iswell done... and is chill and dirty and raw... but musical too... those better than him let their skills take over what the song needs lots of times (page did it a lot)

@@Edwin-ne2br I actually would agree with you. He is more restrained. That said I just think he isn't quite on there level technically speaking. But to be honest guys like Hendrix and Page were themselves not technical virtuosos. Within the pop/rock music framework they were considered that way but in reality we can go into in any jazz school right now and find a guitarist who would destroy them both in a test of pure skill. So I feel like when we talk about "great rock guitarists" we are accepting that there is a balance of skill and artistry that comes together. Frusciante definitely has enough of both to be considered great.

I’m 963 years old and I’ve seen a lot of rock bands come and go and they’ve all stuck around regardless of popularity or death. With that being said, Id like to say you are wet behind the ears in your age ,which is true, but I honestly think that’s a humble opinion I can not say anything that may be adverse….. you’re right. I’m trying to sound articulated. I know I fucked up but did any of my typing sound intelligible? Love your comment ❤

SOOOOO glad you guys got to check this one out! Criminally underrated song, absolutely best enjoyed in live form(don't tell me they aren't passionate with live performances like 'Don't Forget Me'), and, frankly, what I think is one of the songs that are closest to "perfect" there is! Does that mean it should be everyone's favorite, that everyone should like it? Of course not, it isn't necessarily my favorite song ever; but I don't think there's anything that could be changed(at least not obvious) that would make it "better" than it is as is, for what it is it's just so perfectly written & performed. Being really passionate about muh music, this is one that conjures up the feels just from the performance, I'll never get sick of this one.

I tried for so long to get a reaction channel to listen to this live version of the song "Don't Forget Me", with no success so I gave up on it. I was so glad to see you guys actually do it. RHCP is an amazing band to see live! One of the most energetic live bands I've seen. John Fruscanti completes the band, putting so much emotion into his writing, playing and his relationship with each member is definitely obvious once you know their backstory and then to see them play off each other live on stage. John is 1 of my favorite top 10 guitarists ever! Love the channel you two and to see your growth on your musical adventure and how you also play and feed off each other to make for a great reaction each time. truth be told it took me a minute to warm up to dudes personality but much respect now.:-)

Lex actually touched on something. For me, you can't actually truly appreciate rhcp without appreciating each of the components that make it up. For me, i started focusing on flea playing the bass, that allowed me to use it as a pillar to guide me throughtout each song and then i started honing in on the other instrument playing etc which is when i TRULY felt rhcp touch my soul. When you first hear Cant Stop for example devoid of this context, it can seem like some pop relic of the past. So i guess i get why she says she doesnt like their other stuff but then the moment she sees them live she changes her mind. I guarantee if she saw those other songs she said sher didnt like live she would change her mind.

Lex, that guitar sound that you heard that sounded like a violin is a technique called volume swells. It's really fun to do and hard to be really good at. Adrian Belew and also Alex Lifeson from Rush were awesome at them. But basically you turn the volume knob down with your pinky and then you strike the note on the string and then after the attack you quickly bring the volume up with your pinky and then you repeat it as long as you want to do that.

Cool to see you react to lesser known songs. RHCP have some great stuff compared to what they've put out recently.
