Bullets are still cheaper than missiles so the best counter for drones and other short range air targets. Better to save those missiles for other targets

To be fair one of the main features of Skyranger 30 & 35 is that they can be mounted on practically anything with sufficienf load capacity.

This sounds good because it is basiclly a Gepard 2.0 because the Gepard is a Anti Aircraft Tank out of Leopard 1.... now with the Cockerrill 3030 and these Skyranger 35... it is Basiclly a better newer Gepard with better Bullets and Computer and also wanna point out these Massive Spare parts around the world. The funny thing is how old Leopard one and Gepard are and still good for Defence

At 3:49, that is a Danish Leopard 2A7, you can tell by the 5 digit identification number, and if you look closely you can see a small danish flag at the rear of the tank

Rheinmetall has claimed that the single barrel Skyranger (30 or 35mm) is more accurate, thus using fewer rounds per target, then the dual 35mm Gepard.

German, 60. A twin cannon does not double the hit rate, but reduces the hit probability because the recoil of one cannon distorts the hit pattern of the other cannon. The target image of a single cannon is therefore always more accurate, which is why a single cannon consumes less ammunition.

If you can get a sensitive enough proximity fuse that can pick up the small FOV drones, you won't need high rates of fire. It would be a good idea to pair this with an EW system on another vehicle. Redundacy is good.

Why are almost ALL content creators using f'ing AI/Robo voices for their videos?!?! Ashamed of your own voice? Afraid you'll be tracked by the boogey-man and doxed? Have some weird phobia? The robo voices constantly mispronounce words and names. Often they pronounce the same word/name differently each time it's encountered in the narrative script! Enough! Just STOP IT!!!

It's a Single-Barreled Gepard. using old Leopard-1 chassis. It's a smart move.

The Gepard chassis is diffrent. It's a little bit longer, the batterys are at the back of the chassis. And in the left side on the front is a second engine as a power supply. Instead an ammunitionbunker like in the LEO 1.

It is not that small. On the old Bofors 40L70 you had less, although these were 40 mm rounds, however without advanced technology. Constantly men had to top up the amount of grenades to feed the gun.

Is this AI? I cannot imagine a "defense" channel that doesn't know how to pronounce one of the largest and oldest military equipment manufacturers name correctly. So either this garbage channel just copies ides and reads on the internet, being totally unfamiliar with the products and companies involved, or trash guy pronounced it wrong to cheat comments. Either way, most of you know more than they do. KZbin, do not suggest channel, will be my very, next, click.

News of skyranger 35 a quick search found articles older than one year old looks imprssive but the turret only holds 252 rounds for a less than a 20 second burst whitout a reload nearby ?

@@tony18662 dude, get some education. we are no longer in the 40´s where air defense saturated the sky. the skyranger, just like mantis gives a short 3-10 round burst per target and thats sufficient to destroy the target. the magic of modern ammunition and targeting ;)

@@tony18662 BW adopts the 30mm version, so do several other European countries, Ukraine inclusive. Because of the ammunition issue, the better mobility of the Boxer Chassis and they are fitting some Multi Purpose MELLS missiles on top.

If it is made in switzerland, they can not use the weapons in war. Such a nice system, but very useless without the ammunition. Is it realy neutral, if you do not give the victim a chance to fight back? Or are you picking a side by enabling the aggressor through your inaction.

Oerlikon has been bought by Rheinmetall in 1999. They have sites in Switzerland, Germany, Italy, and Canada so Swiss weapon export restrictions are definitely not an issue for new systems.

@@Kurikost_ can be ordered with exact same Israel system Finland company Patria and Hägglunds have already tried it out in tests . But most nations dont purchase Israel equipment due to its outside NATO and its not inside NATO development and upgrade sphere. Sweden and Finland was Neutral and have purchased Israel systems Long before Germany warmed up to the idea its a simple copy on a different chassis.

The CV90 ain't always cheaper. If a country has older Leo 2's it may be attractive to convert them in a SHORAD system, for example during a Midlife Update. The car may still be OK, but the turret and gun may be outdated.
