There's a place in Main Street that you can go and complain about that kind of stuff in the park. I had a similar experience with family and my uncle complained and ended up getting us three passes to get onto three rides. Not just fast passes, but INSTA-LINE SKIP with no waiting involved. Disney knows how to treat their customers to an extent.

I really, really love Disneyland. It helps that I've been there so many times that I know exactly what rides to run to get fast passes for and when you should take the train that goes around Disney to rest your feet, etc. There comes a time when you can literally make the most out of your visit-- I actually went last week and I went on 90% of the rides in one day with my friend just by using our time wisely.

We were homeschooled too, and when we lived in Florida I was like 10, and my sibling were 9, 7, and 4 (yes I have a rather big family) and we got and annual pass to Disney world. It was the best experience ever! We went on everything, including space mountain, thunder mountain, splash mountain, Mount Everest and other non mountain themed rides, Soren, test track. And Winnie the pooh and stuff like that for my four year old sister. But one time we were waiting for my dad to come in from the airport which was nearby, and it was like 1am, and literally no one was there but us and the poor workers. We walked on to every ride, and did them over and over again! It was a blast! Thanks for bringing me back such great memories!!!

Although I have never been to DL... I go to Disney World about every 2yrs. and I have found that the 2nd week in January along with the week before Thanksgiving have been the BEST times to go. The crowds are minimal and the weather is fantastic. I would HIGHLY recommend going back during those times... you wont regret it! :) Best of luck on your next adventure..

Rhett, two rides breaking down is crazy ridiculous and highly unusual. I spent a whole week at Disneyland for my honeymoon and never encountered a broken ride then entire time. In the last week of August this summer, my family and I went to LA. We were there for 5 days. Out of those 5 days 1 was going to the hotel and getting settled. 1 to chill at the hotel. 2 at Newport and Hunntington Beach and 1 for California Adventure. In that one day we went, we managed to ride every single ride there at California Adventure. My absolute favorite was the Car Racers. We went at night and it was dark, the lights were beautiful and the cool night breeze felt nice. Best part of my summer. :)

Wait. So in Disneyland they don't give you fastpasses when they evacuate the attraction? Because in Disney World, if they have to evacuate all the Guests, they hand out fastpasses that allow you to return that attraction (or one of the ones listed on the ticket) as long as you return before the expiration date on the ticket.
@CrossYourFingersx39 жыл бұрын
Kayla Platt This is a really late reply, but as a Cast Member, we do hand out re-admission passes if we evacuate, but only to the Guests that were on the attraction when we evacuated and depending on how far the Guest was along in the line.

It was during the Spring Break season, we stayed there for around 3-5 days (I don't remember exactly how many because I was pretty young at the time), and were only able to ride a grand total of 2 rides during the entire stay. So definitely don't go to Disney during Spring Break if you're looking for an enjoyable time!

Life: -Went to big thunder mountain railroad. After about an hour, they told us there are technical difficulties, too. -Went to Indiana jones ride, TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES. -The Harry Potter ride: this is the worst one yet. There was a two hour wait sign up. We were like, okay, it's a popular ride, that's reasonable. Went in line. An hour in, we were dying of heat. It was June. In California. But we were like, uh, it's okay, we're halfway through. Another hour passes. There was a HOLDUP, and we had barely moved from the halfway point. We were like, YOU KNOW WHAT? WE'VE GONE THIS FAR. So we waited another hour, and then we FINALLY rode the Harry Potter ride. It was about 4:00 when we got in line. It was 7:00 when we got out.

My family goes to Disneyland a couple times a year. Most of the time, we have a blast. But I've had days exactly like that- everything goes wrong, pure frustration. My recommendation? Go see some of the live entertainment. They're talented, funny, interactive if you or your kids are into that sort of thing. And you don't have to wait in line! They're a hidden gem on crowded days and can restore the magic on even your worst day.

I love Disneyland! But I've been many times so I'll admit that some experiences are less awesome than others. Busy days always suck: more rides break down, the lines are longer, fastpasses sell out faster... I've always had more luck going on days when it might rain and trying to wait until night to ride the roller coasters (or waiting for when there is a parade or show going on to ride them). Also, I usually forgo California Adventure, because while there are a few great rides, it's not usually worth the time to park hop. Instead, I go to California Adventure some other day for a shorter period of time (also, it's usually less busy earlier in the day)

I went to EuroDisney in Paris at Christmas 2011 and I didn't really do anything because I'm scared of theme parks or whatever but my mum and uncle were on 'Crush's Coaster' and my uncle went on it first with my sister and it was absolutely fine but when my mum and uncle went on , the ride got stuck. It was completely dark , there was really loud music playing over speakers and my mum was having a panic attack , because at this stage , my sister and I were standing outside of the ride alone. Everything was fixed and the people at EuroDisney didn't do anything to compensate for my mums panicking. Just thought I would share my story with my fellow mythical beasts.

Rhett, I'm so sorry your first trip was a half-flunk. You made lotsa rookie mistakes. Lucky for you, plenty of the mythical beasts are Disney veterans and can help you next time you plan your trip. The most important tip I can give you is this: Don't go to the block out days. Those are typically on holidays, spring break, and summer break. What do they have in common? No school. As homeschoolers, we take advantage of days when school is on because the rides are 45 min wait at the worst. Best of luck with your next trip!

I was actually just at Disneyland this last weekend for a band trip. It was amazing, but a couple rides did break down. We were waiting in line for Pirates of the Caribbean for an hour, right before we were about to get on it broke down, so we left and went to the haunted mansion. While we were on it it broke down for half an hour... Yep, that was frustrating. But the rest of the trip was amazing! And may I suggest the next time you go it's between October and December? That's when they have the Haunted Mansion ride look like "The Nightmare before Christmas"

@alyssajohnson596010 жыл бұрын
I have a lot of experience with disney. i used to go every week. When it comes to crowded days, you have to plan your day strategically. Getting there early is good, and riding a lot of the rides before most of the crowd arrives is a good route when you don't want to wait. on a non busy day you could ride a great number of rides before the lines get to long if you get there when it opens. if you want to see how long the lines are before walking to a particular attraction, i think disneyland has an app. This helps with the amount of walking and you can just go to the ride you want without walking to each individual ride. Since Rhett got there at around 10, it makes sense that the fastpasses were so late given the crowds. going towards the middle of the week, or when it rains, it tends to be less crowded. Holidays are hell and crowded like crazy so its best to avoid them when you want short lines. I honestly do think you had a bad experience, Rhett, but it was partially due to your poor planning and can be avoided in the future :)

My Worst Wait At Amusement Park: Universal Studios, Diagon Ally, Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringott's. It's their latest ride, so I guess I can't bellyache too much. Anyhoo, my family and I get in line, and it's a 10 minute wait. We think, "We better get in this line before it gets bad". Oh we of little faith... so we spend at least 45 mins outside (HUGE crowd, lots of crowd control), spend at least 20 mins in the main Gringott's lobby, then breeze through the "lift" like it ain't no thang. Then... THE SPIRAL STAIRCASE. Six... freaking... times... "We're sorry. We're experiencing technical difficulties. *Blah blah something about cars*". Total wait time: 9 HOURS!!!! Then, we FINALLY get on the ride, have a great time, no stops, then, AS WE LEAVE, WALKING DOWN THE EXIT HALL, "We're sorry, we're experiencing technical difficulties. *Blah blah, something about cars*". I hope someone who works at Universal Studios reads this.
