It’s a bloody shame your channel doesn’t get the recognition it deserves. But know that it doesn’t go unrecognized. There’s only one place in the world with storytelling, cinematography, editing, killer licks, puppetry, and classic songs, all rolled into one.

hey man i'm a huge fan of your videos and been following you for a while now. In fact you are one of the people who inspire me to build a youtube channel myself so I'm thankful for that! But I think you should still use your mic for talkback and use the recorded guitar audio in DAW for the vids man. I like this simple video format too but I think you shouldn't downgrade the audio quality because that is one of your channel strength. Cheers mate ! Please don't stop making this videos, you're a beast!

Guitar KZbin has gotten way too serious and we need the fun shyt you do. 95% of us will never be anything more than the guy in your video, in the basement jamming and singing along to their favorite songs. I don’t need session players telling me my playing is bullshyt if I don’t learn this scale or music stores telling me that my gear sucks cuz I don’t use X pedal or y amp. I seriously could do with never hearing behind the scenes interviews with long forgotten jazz fusion players of the 70’s acting like steely Dan’s Aja album is some pivotal moment in history alongside the moon landing, ww2 and the birth of Christ 😂😂😂 What we need is for this to be fun and lighthearted again. You provide that and we like you for it. Keep doing it! Looking forward to the next one! 🍻 bro

its extremely ridiculous how algorithms are manipulating the viewership now, the worst is where search bars no longer function, only showing the top hand foul of videos and the rest just not showing up and instead replaced with that youtube thinks you will enjoy. i was ecstatic when i finally came across your videos when looking up the cali76 and boy was i amazed! there is clearly a market for your videos. its just that algorithms decide otherwise. im a small time artist and recently thr views on my art posts on X just got nuked. form 100+k to 3k.. when i reached out to my followers and fellow artists, its evident that X just decided to not broadcast our posts to the hashtags and even my followers. this just portrays a broken and manipulated system that favours some over others to just breed more sensationalised "junkfood" content that creators dont even totally believe in.

I think that we all go through that. We work really hard on a video, only to see it flop. We make a video that was quick and dirty and it takes off. The worse ones for me are those that I worked really hard on, they performed well, and then I just can't seem to replicate that success on other videos. Every time that I think that I've cracked the code, I get humbled. Now, I focus less on views and more on what my audience wants to watch. Took me 5 years, but I'm slowly starting to get it. lol

@SuperdangerStudios - love your videos. they are fun, informative, you're humble/honest, and get great tone with your gear. The UAFX Woodrow is my favorite video to date. Not sure what is up with the stupid KZbin algorithms, but your content is so much better than 99% of the stuff that is out there. I see people doing weak reviews with poor guitar playing skills, bad guitar tone, and somehow they have tens of thousands of views. It's clearly some kind of search engine optimization and algorithm madness. What's odd is that your videos didn't creep into my searches and feeds until about 6 months ago. That makes zero sense to me. I prefer KZbin over all the other platforms when it comes to obtaining information on gear, but it's sad to see the monetization, algorithms, and other wizardry that floats some of the worst content to the top of the search results

I had no idea YT 'demands' clickbait, interesting. As a viewer, I shun mugging faces in thumbnails, anyone with a baseball cap indoors, and numerous other pet hates, and I rarely use the YT default view. I log in and use my subscription feed 90% of the time. I think this means I always see the content of channels I follow, but I'm not sure. It certainly is a strange game.
@SuperdangerStudios

The way KZbin has shaped our media habits cannot be overstated. That being said, I still have to play the game if I want to win. Even my subs only will click on my video less than 7% of the time. It’s incredibly competitive out there and KZbin makes you fight for new viewers instead of showing you to subscribers. I’m up for the challenge but some weeks it’s really bizarre how the feed works.

From my experience, with my wife's channel, the things all the "experts" say about YT growth is completely wrong. Thumbnails need to look like unicorn puke? Nope. Likes? Nope. Subscriptions? Nope. Comments? Nope. Granted KZbin is a bottomless pit of mystery when it comes to the "algorithm". One thing I DO know for certain, YT cares about views. Longer content, if viewers keep watching, always does better. But the RPM can fluctuate in incredibly random ways. My wife's channel usually has an RPM of about $15. When she had a video that topped 130k views, it dropped to $4. Her last video that has gotten over 6k in two days has an RPM of $17. I get the formulaic ways of trying to publish content (the wondering face with a product), that's just not what I see. Maybe it's like that for more product oriented channels that rely on people watching to see a new product, but I really wonder about some of the "best practices" experts are giving. Love your channel. Hope to see more content.

I would hope that getting videos picked up by "the market" is more about packaging effectively and less about betraying the core of your artistic vision.
@SuperdangerStudios
@SuperdangerStudios Ай бұрын
Right? That would be ideal. The most important parts in order are 1. Thumbnail 2. Title 3. First minute of your video. If it makes it past the first 3 then you are on the right track. It's just hard to get that right all the time. Even on the videos where I think I nail it really don't work at all. And the random phone videos I shoot end up performing incredibly well.

Unfortunately, what I love most about your channel is that it is not like others channels. It stands out because of the inventiveness and fun. There are so many straight product review channels. But I get that there's a balance and you need to kneel down at the crossroads and sell your soul a bit to the KZbin devil so get views and subscribers etc. And I can't believe that UAFX have played that many - if any - Dumbles themselves. So, everything is an approximation.

What differentiates a "good" KZbin vid from the rest. I think it comes down to content and presentation. Useful content presented in an organized way trumps a lot of fluff. Presentation is key, too. Namely 1) sound quality, 2) video quality, 3) most vids are way too long and the stretching is obvious and amateurish - get to the point, summarize, go into the weeds if necessary but most 20 min vids are 15 min too long, 4) and certainly entertainment value, humor, and style need to be mentioned. Fake attitude, crazy antics, cheap theatrics are big turn offs. There are exceptions. Uncle Larry gets by largely on #4. Few KZbinrs in the guitar world can entertain like Tom in his vids. But to gas on about drummed up content, with a crappy phone mic - yuk. My 2 cents.

For your Epic videos, I wonder if they'd do well on TikTok and KZbin shorts. Nobody wants to watch longer videos, but we're all suckers for a part 2! If that method shows signs of success it could become its own thing, especially in future videos where it'd become part of your creative process. And also nobody else is doing that. In an ideal world, it'd give multiple opportunities for the reviews to be discovered and really help you grow your audience whilst fulfilling that creative itch.
