橘夏子ロ The bull most likely sedated. It wouldn't have been safe for the bull or the person taking them off if it wasn't. Bulls can kick extremely hard. My uncle had his skull broken from one. He did survive though because he's a tough guy in a state that's full of tough guys (Texas)

Michael Hill They don't just sedate the animal and chop it's balls off for food. They kill the thing while it's alive and fully aware of what's happening. It's fully aware while it hangs upside down and has it's throat slit, and still aware for a while after it happens. During that time, it obviously feels pain.

橘夏子ロ Actually, Michael's right. They don't kill the bull, they just castrate it so it can't breed. It's much too young for the slaughterhouse (usually only 2-4 months old). And where I'm from, we don't slit the bull's throat when we slaughter, we shoot them in the head with a special mechanism (looks like a cherry pitter) so they go down without feeling any pain. It's as humane a death as you can get. We take care of our animals from the time they're born to the time they die.
