I was one of the few Egyptians in preparatory school who was reading Shakespeare and Charles Dickens in English and Arabic. Most of my colleagues thought that I was wasting time, but I enjoyed the long-term process, rather than short-term goals. I also like the physical dictionary (English-English) more than the online one. This was what improved my reading and writing skills.
