I have the mod armory and it seems like it can't get the locking knob tight enough to actually lock in place. It makes it more difficult to move but it still can move back and forth on the track. Edit: mine has a metal locking knob.

I believe they made an improvement to dovetail from norotos. They are called fit perfect socket. Works widely with other dovetail interfaces in the market.

I tried doing this method on a pair of usgi rhino 2 mount with pliers and even a vice grip, theres not enough grippable surface area on the roll pin to get a solid grip so my tool keeps slipping off and ending with me crushing the roll pin a little more each time. I even have the paper clip inserted, idk how to proceed from here.

Sorry for the late reply. If it's really smooshed in there, you can always drill it out. Use a center punch to give you something to dig into, and the drill bit will probably rip the pin out instantly. Absolute worst-case scenario, you could drill out the entire hole, and epoxy in a nail or something when you are done. The retention pin doesn't have to be perfect to work perfectly.
