I was an esthetician (just facials and waxing) 20yrs ago and a Mary Kay rep tried to get me to sell, but I am not a big mouth seller. I bought the kit and sold it back within a week (no profits but didn't lose any money). I am not a hippie nor was my mom (the age of a Hippie) but I am a minimalist so I use a bronzer for both cheeks and eye shadow along with lipstick.

I used to see Sally and her husband Lloyd on variety shows in late 1960s and during 1970s, they did standup comedy and she'd make cracks about him. I thought he was really cute during that era and on this ep. It is funny when Rhoda and Lloyd get in a fight over his former marriage with Sally. He was hilarious as Geoge's dad on Seinfeld.

Brenda was really pretty how she looked when wearing the red sweatshirt and saying she removed that makeup with ajax.Some women look better with the natural look...no makeup.I remember the Meara/Stiller duo guest appearing on variety shows for their comedy routines, during the early 1970's.

Oh, the make up...I remember the eye makeup palette (70s creeped into the 80s) that is still sold today! I went to one of those franchise makeup (mineral blush and base etc) Bella Terra (DO NOT GO THERE - nothing is less than $70 for one thing) and after she made my face up I looked like a clown (I used to do makeovers) and she didn't EVEN give me a mirror to see what she did.

CaptainGrimsdale LOL!! Lucky you! Back in the late 60s and during a good part of the 70s, many, many houses/apartments were equipped with avocado kitchen appliances. There was also a preponderance of avocado shag carpet. Come to think of it, there were even cars that color. Just awful, but very much the norm back then.

+CaptainGrimsdale I remember my mom's boy friend gave her a brand new refrigerator. It was Thanksgiving 1974 . (Self defrosting! No more chipping the ice out every Saturday morning!) Anyway, there were only three colors to choose from at the appliance store: White, avocado green, or mustard gold!! Ha ha LOL !! Those were the fashion colors for the kitchen in 1974 !! Well, My mom was more the sensible type, and she said she would get tired of green. so she chose the white!!! It lasted her 27 years. rest well my dear mama +++

During the 70and 80s, I've had both avocado and the yellow (called harvest gold) appliances. I was so glad when the brushed steel and black appliances came out. Almond (cream color) and white aren't bad colors either, coppertone (brown), was OK. We had a coppertone fridge when I was a kid (mid-60s).
