There are some fascinating docs on the lady who had coffee spilled on her. Anyone too young to remember, or didn't catch it the first time around, she ordered coffee at McDs, it spilled as she left, and she sued them.... The jokes were... How do you spill coffee on yourself and take the coffee makers to court??? The coffee use to be some crazy degrees hot back in the day, the lid was semi loose and the burns the coffee causes was siiiiiiick. Please don't look up the pics,but it caused second and third degree burns. I can still vividly see the image in my head please, dont look up but.... Yeah after that Doc my mind completely changed on the issue and I felt bad for her and her family. I don't believe the payout even covered the skin graphs and hospital stays.
@randyj4203 жыл бұрын

Norm: Hey you want to hear a great joke? Me: Ohhh this is going to be great to see where he goes. Unsuspecting: Leans in to hear the joke. Norm: Then goes into a really long tale that he just ends without a payoff leaving most of the audience totally confused and no resoloution. Which is savage AF since the payoff is expected. Leaving someone unresolved has a real effect on some. This makes me so happy since I just love the way he keeps the audience from figuring out that his joke has no other point than to leave them totally wondering why they did not get the joke... At times I think other than some jokes he wrote himself that he says live that are not expected but since his actual jokes get the best reaction it was hard to fire him. I think he would just go to writers meetings... and just accept the jokes pitched that he actually knew were really just crap... but it made the meetings really fast... hard to fire him when he did his job... and then writes several better jokes... he just found a way to rig the SNL system... NM was really just a guy who loved walking everyone he could down a one way dead end street to teach you a very good lesson... A sucker is born every minute.
@Keirnoth Жыл бұрын
What made Norm great was he didn't spare anyone. It didn't matter where they were from, who they are, which "side" they were on. They all were the butt of his jokes because he realized it's funny to laugh at the absurd and dumb.
@massdebated Жыл бұрын
Why I liked his syle was he always created jokes for himself and I think he got a kick out of the few who really get the humor he saw in his observation, not pandering to get cheap reactions. His jokes were pretty funny if you get the point he is making... and at times he would make stuff up to just see how far he could go before he was ready to just pancake them... he would then just end the now 5 min long yarn with a really funny oneliner that makes no sense at all or just hangs without no payoff... which I mean is the joke... I just took 6 min of your time to get you all in ready to hear the payoff, without a payoff or resolution. This is pretty savage.
@vangroover1903 Жыл бұрын
Well said. I remember laughing out loud at that bloated clown face look he had going after all those Rosie O'Donnell fat jokes, then found out it was mostly a side effect of the cancer medicine. Imagine the irony even he and his fans could grasp. I was so happy for him when he slimmed back down at the end after the cancer ate away that stupid bloated look. At least he didn't have to apologise to his betters for being such a fatfaced backwards class pasty

A scholar would say "damned," not "damn," and wouldn't use a reflexive pronoun unnecessarily. Might even put an apostrophe in "it's!" Edit: Golly, you even used "like" when you should have used "such as." Four mistakes in one sentence, fellow scholar! Let me be a good scholar and fix that: "The whole damned thing!? This video makes me very disappointed i did not bother to research into Norm Macdonald until after he passed. He seems to be one of the first comedians on prime cable television who truly had an impenetrable personality. His jokes were always jokes, they either evolved or crashed and burned with a torn crowd, but he truly tested society's ability to recognize comedy from reality, and you really had to question some of what he was saying. Norm was truly a genius, and his firing from NBC over OJ jokes seems truly petty; I side with letterman on this, Norm was wrongfully terminated, and Ohlmeyer deserves public reprimand for making prime time comedy stick to PG jokes and banter, or at least contributing to that set of rules. All I can say is, rest in peace, Norm Macdonald. You taught us all how to be free and far thinkers, and I owe you an apology for writing you off until now. Also: God himself told me that OJ is guilty.
