Have been using one for 2 months and I'm finishing it off soon and I must say for the price and quality I think they beat Field Notes. They are smaller however but to me that is perfect (perfect size in my opinion) while others may find that a minus. Field notes include more variants in cover and they look better than rhodia a7 notebooks.

Just came across this review. I use these A7 Rhodia notebooks, by ripping out the pages, punching them, and using them in a mini sized filofax. The slight variation in the size, when compared to the official A7 size, fits a mini filofax perfectly, for those who prefer not to use tabs. Excellent paper - some of the best! The only thing I don't like is that Rhodia don't line up the squares with their guillotine. Shame about Bureau Direct. I bought quite a lot from them back in the day, including the mythical Rhodia "Webbie" in A7 size, which is now almost impossible to get hold of. Thanks for sharing.

I want to buy these after realizing how good the notepads were. I'm a little worried because some reviews say that the grid is too dark and hides the writing quite badly. These don't look too dark, but I'm concerned because the reviews are new and from a local vendor I'm planning to buy from... I might have to go with the lined ones, because they will annoy me less than a dark grid :(

I don't think the grid is dark, they are pretty affordable so not too much risk!

Brilliant, they are fantastic for fountain pens aren't they!

+DevonReviewer yes, I've been a fan of Rhodia notebooks since I got back into fountain pens this year (I'm a child of the 70's who was "forced" to use a fountain pen at school! - thankfully that didn't put me off them!). These small notebooks will be perfect to use as travel journals!

Kathy Monk Yep, also schooled with fountain pens in the 80's. I use the notebooks to write outlines for my reviews and keep one in my camera bag along with a kaweco sport.

+DevonReviewer hee hee, bet your school pen was better looking than the old platignum one I had to use! Good idea re keeping one of the notebooks in your camera bag with a kaweco - they are nice little pens.

Kathy Monk Nope, I had one of those funny tapered Platignum school pens too, it may still be around in the parents loft somewhere. I have been tempted to buy an old one of eBay but they seem to be in dubious condition and >£10, so I decided against it.
