Huge thank you to Kim RelbeyIn this tutorial, I show you how to implement outface in your models to quickly push pull multiple like items that you may have in your build much like shelf pin holes. This is new technique on an old subject matter that I have addressed before, but the technique is HUGE time saver. Hope you like it and be sure to comment below and like this video. Don't forget to subscribe too. Thank you all!!!

Finally! An understandable explanation of Cut Face! Thanks.

Thank You!!! I’m glad it makes sense. It works even better if you have the component window open that you can click and drag that particular hole component that you created a cut face for into other components.

Thanks again Drew. I am at the end of your video uploads. It's been since June and I'm viewing this on 9/24. I hope you are well and there is nothing of issue with you or your family. I understand life happens and KZbin is a side-line/marketing/tutorial service you're providing us basically for free ( I do sincerely hope you make a decent amount in view revenue, you certainly have earned it!). Give us an update if it's something you can share...otherwise I'll just wait, impatiently, for your next video or tutorial. My sincere best wishes and thanks for all you've done for us out here in KZbin land. Tony "V"

Great technique! I’m gonna try and adapt it to render a series of sliding shelf dados in a panel. I’ve seen all your Sketchup videos and have learned so much. Thank you!

This sketch up series is "Ever Green" material Drew. People will come back to review these videos for years into the future. Just like your "Joinery Series" from a few years ago. I still go back and review those videos from time to time.

I think the difference with the extra circle push/pull is with when you make it a component. I just did it Make v13 without a second circle, pushed in, then made it a component, and did all the copies OK too.

So can someone explain why he was able to make the shelf pins holes without the ring in the other video? I'm confused why you would do it this way vs Video #5. This adds a bunch of extra steps. The other way was faster.
@rhwoodshop
@rhwoodshop 4 жыл бұрын
If you only had a few holes to do, video five would be faster but if you have multiple pieces with a considerable amount of holes to push and pull, this method in video seven is much faster because you don’t have to individually push and pull each hole 3/8 of an inch deep. With video seven you do one hole with a push and pull and then because it is a component it will automatically push pull with every copy you make.

I feel like an idiot asking, but everyone says sketchup is free. When I tried to get it, it was only free for 30 days then you have to pay for it. To me that is not free. Am I doing something wrong? Please advise

Get sketchup 2017. It will let you try the pro version for 30 days. Afterwards it reverts to Make. The pro features are no longer available. There,s still quite a bit you can do with the “free”version. 2017 “free” is what I am running. Not sure if this format is available for 2018 & 2019.

It's cool that sketch up is free. But as a user of solid works at my job, sketch up is brutally cumborsum. Nice video though. I dabbled with sketch up, because to use solid works at home, I have to transfer the seat. And remember to transfer it back. Nice to see 3-d design software for free.
@rhwoodshop
@rhwoodshop 5 жыл бұрын
😝 sounds time consuming if you go from place to place. Never used solid works.
