This episode has some of the best lines 😂😂 "This is quite homoerotic" "What is this Scooby Doo?!" "Just wish you had been uglier"

A fun bit of context - a couple years after this episode there was a massive scandal in the UK where it was revealed the horsemeat was being put into products in lieu of the meat that was meant to be there. Big thing in 2012 - i’m surprised we Brits don’t talk about it much anymore.

After? So this episode wasn't commenting on something that was topical?

"I CATCH *ALIENS."* The clip from this episode featuring the argument was what made me fall in love with Torchwood. I'd seen none of it before then.

The whole situation with Rhys knowing is actually the only way Gwen can follow through on Jack's order when she joined. He told her to make sure the job didn't destroy her relationship, which keeping if from Rhys was doing, so to fix things something had to give.

True. i love so much that he finally knows. It was so good for their relationship. Because no more secrets now she can honestly talk about her day. He can try to help her cope help the team just live life with her without always wondering what she keeps from him. Loved how proud he was. Yeah he hunts aliens and all that but you come home to me

Love how domestic this episode is. Eve myles stands out with her acting. You can feel every single word she speaks. Gwen choosing Rhys changed how I looked at Gwen. Everyone has done so much growing. The small conversations between the rest of the team goes to show how much healthy their relationships are. And I fucking love Tosh

Interesting ending, Jack backing down with Gwen over Rhys makes me wonder how the rest of the team who have sacrificed love interests feel about that? Good episode, shame the really nasty villains got away with a memory wipe and you felt real empathy for the creature.

This episode actually had a great part on my decision to become vegan many years ago. This one, and also, The beast below.

This is one of my favourite Torchwood episodes, and yours was my favourite reaction to it. Loved what you had to say about it

I love the episode because of Rhys. But it makes me so sad for that animal and makes me feel so guilty for eating meat.

Oh, the irony of having us be made to feel sorry for this creature because "it's sentient". Cow and pigs are sentient too but we've decided as a species that they don't matter. And then we claim that "all lives matter". It's tragic really and we really are a terrible stain on this planet, which is a shame because we're capable of so much empathy too.

A podcast with Jack telling stories sounds like something that would be fun and NSFW.

This is my least favorite episode. I felt so much for that creature. Poor thing. It was very easy to believe that humans would do that. This episode always breaks my heart.

It's one of my favourite episodes for those exact same reasons. 😔
