Wonderful reaction. And, yes, all of us who watched it originally needed to do some "processing" after this one! And we were well and truly hooked too--for all the reasons you said.

You didn't show the space ship in the beginning of the movie. Therefore the viewer here misses the alien connection. That first scene was crucial.

Was hoping for the Christmas special to come out on Christmas. Watching Voyage of the damned now. Gotta say it's so educational. Not sure why Britain insists on going to war with Turkey every year 😂

Just be glad the Doctor isn't Eric Cartman from South Park. It may have taken more than six words, but words were all Cartman needed to kill Scott Tenorman's parents.

To get the backstory, watch the prequel "The Thing" (2011). This film starts when the Norwegians' first discover the alien ship.

I know it's been a year but I just found your videos! I love your reactions. You're sincere and you pay attention to the characters as well as set design, etc., which I love. The mansion for this episode was a very impressive set location in my opinion. At the end, you mentioned the crew laughing at Luffy and Usopp arguing over who is the captain. And I wanted to give a short explanation in case others haven't said it. The hierarchy among the Strawhats is very lose, aside from their given roles (e.g. Nami = always the navigator). Luffy is very much the Captain and all of his crew believe in him and follow him with the most respect and loyalty. Especially when it comes to deciding where they are going, orders during battle, serious situations, etc. But outside of that, they're essentially a ragtag family. A lot of their interactions are informal. Which makes a good contrast against others crews we meet, like Alvida's, where there are more boundaries and a set hierarchy.

That scene with The Doctor holding The Master and begging him to regenerate has made me tear up and cry so many times. It's amazing that despite The Master being such an unempathetic character with basically 0 redeeming qualities yet still have such an emotional death because you understand how much he means to The Doctor. The Doctor wiped out his entire race, an act he feels an immense amount of guilt over and now he finally has a chance to make things right with the only other Time Lord left, his former childhood friend. Because even after all the terrible things The Master has done, there is that sense of kinship between them, that shared understanding that no one else but another Time Lord is capable of having with The Doctor. And it all slips away in his arms as The Master chooses not to regenerate, partly to spite The Doctor and escape what he perceives as being trapped with him, but also partly to free himself from the maddening drums that had haunted him since birth due to the Time Lord's messed up and abusive academic initiation rituals.

One cool / fun detail. When Lisl asks abut her age and Madlaine sais "38" .... you could see the shock in Isabella Rosselinis face. Thats not acted, Maryl Streep was supposed to say "28" the first time. Isabella was 38 at the time of filming. That moment glare of "how dare you" fits brilliant.

I don’t do cosplay or Halloween costumes but I have considered a cheap costume would be a zipper, a glow stick, and a whoopee cushion. If you’re fancy use makeup or latex to blend the zipper into the forehead.

The Toclafane reveal is an understated detail that in my opinion just worked perfectly with this whole trilogy and really elevated them beyond the average monster. Apart from them being obviously reminiscent of Cybermen and Daleks alike, there's the way the Master effectively became a distorted nightmare version of the Doctor's usual approach; A timelord arrived in the Tardis and saved the entire human race when all hope was lost.

... and the penny drops lol. The best part is, your name for the hand still kinda works. The Doctor lost that hand very soon after he started regenerating, so technically... The Face of Bo had possession of that hand for much longer than the Doctor did, so it effectively was the Hand of Bo lol. Now we know HOW the Face knew that the Doctor was not alone, because he lived thru the events. I'm getting certain Marvel vibes right now, so the last thing I will say is... "...?"

It's been a pleasure watching you react to Dr Who this year. From someone who was a complete newbie checking out the reboot to loving the show and going back to the start of New Who. For someone relatively new to Dr Who, you have great insight into the show. I liked how you realised straight away there must be more to Martha's mission, and the Doctor would not ask her to kill the Master. Have a great break, and I'm looking forward to your return, and of course, you have a new Christmas special to check out with Ncuti Gatwa as well.

Both David Tennant and John Barrowman (Jack) are huge DW fans since they were little boys and to be at the show - a dream come true for them. When the script came about the Face of Boe they went completely bonkers. 😅 Barrowman used to tell that he was at the open window when this episode was aired waiting and listening for - quote - “the nations jaw to drop” 😅😅😅 In the scene of the Master dying David literally acted his a..s off, he was breaking your heart to pieces there and he will again - he is on hell of an actor.

The face of boe thing is genius because your ears and nose never stop growing and your body stops producing collagen, resulting in sagging of the skin.

Love with the titanic scene how they added in 3 distinct bell rings, this was what the lookouts on the titanic did when they saw any object dead ahead, and off course that means they did that when they spotted the ice iceberg. So to those of us who knew, they were suggesting that the tardis was the iceberg (obviously not saying if that theory was right or wrong 🤔)

David Tennant can really wring every bit of emotion from a scene. Even though I don't tend to like some of the romance stuff with this Doctor, I have to say he can really bring the emotion in episodes like this.
