Last on the list of Rhythm Toys is "Rhythm Fighter." This doesn't seem to have any relation to "Figure Fighter." Rather, it's a two-player head-to-head. The concept is pretty simple. Just see for yourself.
There is a two-player mode in this game, but as it doesn't have a Rhythm Toys section, it was placed int he 1-player mode. So this will be the anomaly in the two-player coverage I'll have for this game. (I actually did have a second player for this, by the way.) It's the Rhythm Heaven series's approach to the fighting game. Sort of. You could consider this a spiritual successor to Street Fighter 1, at least, where Ken and Ryu were the only playable characters and they played exactly the same.
Here, players take turns making a sequences of punches (A button) and kicks (A+B buttons). The game will later prompt the other player to do this same sequence to dodge attacks. Whichever player misses 13 of them first loses. As this goes on, the game asks the players for longer, then faster sequences to ensure that no one short of those perfect memory people could get it right all the time--and those perfect memory people, more often than not, don't have a perfect sense of rhythm. So it works out.
Following this video is a pair of more Meteos Wars matches, and then "Power Calligraphy."
