5:30 Great explanation. I noticed that I started using rhythms for my boxing combinations. That and even different speeds to change it up. All great tips. Something I definitely need because I don’t have natural athleticism as other boxers. My only gift is strength and power punching. Yet that doesn’t amount to all that much in boxing if you can’t set it up and land those punches. That and over the years I’ve learned just how important defense is after taking my fair share of beatings with some injuries in mostly sparring sessions.
@andrewtanczyk4009Ай бұрын
Good stuff! Yah, I had absolutely no rhythm 🥁when I started. Then once I learned how to shift the weight from leg to leg I learned I could incorporate defensive movements with my offensive movements thus creating a good rhythm 🎵🥁 🎶 .

3:20 Yah, pendulum step was the first rhythm step I learned. However I did it wrong as you said by bouncing back and forth too quickly. Once I leaned to use it for both defensive purposes and offensive purposes I started landing more punches and having better defense.

Dope videos. Idk how I’ve never seen your videos before. I’m glad you mentioned the breathing because that is often overlooked and very important. When I first started boxing in 04, I would actually hold my breath when throwing power shots and then that throws EVERYTHING off. Through shadow boxing I LEARNED the breathing rhythms necessary to perform the different movements. Keep doing what you’re doing homie. 💪🏽🥊🙏🏽

3:45 “it takes stamina so you better do your road work.” Yah, only problem is I notice I would overtrain at times by running 6 to 8 miles everyday. Seems as if road work was better for breath and lungs rather than legs. For me running never really helped me with legs in a boxing bout.
