To those who need tips: The initial part of the song (the 'paa paa po o' part) repeats much later on the song. You do not need to worry abou the timing until that part plays a second time. After the initial part plays again, wait until the cow's legs are parallel to the floor a second time. That is, the firs time the cow's legs are parallel to the floor, the co will keep spinning until the cow's legs are parallel a second time. Do not input immediately after you see the cow's legs be parallel. Even after the second time, the background goes back to normal and the co will wind up her stick a tiny bit before hitting the cowbell. You might end up inputting just barely before she does.

A little more background for those who are curious: Giant Steps is absurdly complex harmonically, making constant chord changes and flying across three different keys (B, G, and Eb). It's known to be a nightmare to improvise to, with Tommy Flanagan fighting for his life on keyboard in the original recording.

The music here is Giant Steps by John Coltrane, possibly the most difficult piece of music ever written, and quite intentionally. As such it's become kind of a rite of passage for jazz musicians to improvise over it successfully.
@snakey8095
@snakey8095 Жыл бұрын
It's a challenging bop tune sure, but I'm not sure its "the most difficult piece of music", even for jazz. Playing a slow waltz could be "difficult" as well, depends on what you're talking about. Yes it's fun to watch Vox and Adam Neely, but they're merely scratching the very surface of jazz, if sometimes misleading for people who are rather inexperienced with listening to and playing jazz.

Reminds me of this one rhythm game that had a stage in a challenge mode where the only beat of the song was at the very end. And if you missed it you lost all your hp and died. It also didn't have any visual cues nor any indication as to how the stage worked. Just a bullet/beat marker that grew and grew as the song went on. Even so, you could probably guess what you had to do by about half way. I think the tip for the stage was also something like "save the world". Fitting, since the stage was called "Apocalypse", but not really helpful. I wonder if anyone knows what game I'm talking about.... Edit: I should note that you unfortunately can't really play it anymore since its servers closed. A shame, I liked it a lot. Edit 2: I was looking up gameplay footage and I realized that I misremembered somethings. The stage is called "Meteor". The song that plays is called "Apocalypse" by M2U. And the tip/subtitle for the stage is "Protected from the meteor". So, more helpful? No? The bullet/beat marker also 'menacingly' moves closer to you as the song progresses. It was a part of this challenge mode, "chaotic mode", where every stage had a familiar song from the game but with a different chart or gimmick. I miss chaotic mode. Chaotic mode was fun. The game was called "Ride Zero". It's a spinoff of a mobile game RPG called "Crusaders Quest". I commented once about it on a video on their official KZbin Channel and got a response from them. Apparently they don't even seem to know what's up with the game as it was developed by another company...(?) You can find gameplay footage of what I was referring to by searching "Ride Zero Chaotic Meteor". There's also a playlist compiling all other chaotic mode stages that could be played it the game - "[RIDE ZERO] All CHAOTIC mode stages" . It can be found as the first video in that playlist. I would give links but I'd rather not drop links on someone else's video. I was waiting to see if anyone knew the game I was referring to but... I guess not. I wasn't expecting anyone to get it immediately. And it has only been a few hours, but people have asked... and I crumble when pressed. (._. ") Sorry for being unnecessarily secretive I guess.

@@archevenault I wish I could say it was one of those kinds of games but... Nah. It's more like how you can't play Dragalia Lost anymore because its server has closed down. I still have the APK for it myself on an old phone but I can't access anything, even with the "resources downloaded" because of the server shutdown. I wanted to wait to see if anyone would/could guess, but the more I think about it the more I'm starting to wonder if anyone actually will... It wasn't super well known I don't think.
