I don't think a congregation could pull this off, but a choir could. And they should. In a church. This is a hymn to peace. I liked it in 1988 and I like it still in 2023.

This song reminds me of being 15 and thinking I knew it all. The fights with my Dad. Too bad he is not alive for me to tell him now i understand his point of view. I have a daughter now and realize all the worries I gave him. I have the daughter I was. God Bless you Dad. I hope I can give to my daughter, all that you gave to me.

I saw this band around 1988-89; they played on a small stage in the basement of a restaurant & bar in my hometown (Fayetteville, Arkansas) on a Sunday evening, I think. I had heard the song "Common Ground" played on a local radio station & wanted to see the band. I was one of only a few people that were in the audience, as l remember, & the atmosphere was laid back & informal. They played a great performance (including this song). I talked to the band members for while, & they were nice people. The band travelled on a tour bus, & when the bus arrived, it pulled up near the restaurant right next to where I was standing, so I was the first person the band members met when they got off the bus! I bought a "Rhythm Corps" tour t-shirt at the concert, which I had for years.

I was asked by Greg and Mike to join this band when they originally formed in 1980. St the time Greg had just left a band called the Plugs. Michael i did not know I was already leaving for LA for opportunities there. Looking back i probably should have changed my mind. However years later my band The Shy did some shows with them. Great memories! Common Ground is a "Anthem" type of song. Timeless and very good!

Did you know when you made this video that it would be so prophetic and right on? From division to unity through common ground! Yes thank you! Love the doves, the diverse hashtag behind the drums, the music, the lyrics, the black and white theme and all of you are creative, talented, harmonic and handsome! I hope it's OK to post this on my social media. Gratitude, Love and Peace to you all.
