@@RhythmNotes Hey Kevin, I picked up a nice pair of LP Giovanni Hidalgo series which have the original skins on them which are cow I think? However, I would like to replace them with some synthetic heads so I can get a crisper sound to them. Can you please recommend?

@@mv8771 I like the Nuskyn but I would try Remo Skyndeep on the Giovanni series. This is purely coming from a place of curiosity. The Nuskyns are warmer than the Fiberskyn, but I think the Skyndeep look cooler. The have the tucked style head like the Nuskyns. But I don't know anyone with the Skyndeep heads. I can speak to the bright ring of the Fiberskyns and the warm tones of the Nuskyns. Here's the sizing guide for Remo heads. The Giovanni series are I think D4, so cross check the product numbers before you buy anything. www.remo.com/experience/post/lp-conga-drumhead-guide/

@Rhythm Notes, after looking at the Remo site and countless videos and sites and your recommendation I'm confused which Remo heads to pick. My goal as a beginner (been playing off/on for some years now so not REALLY a beginner) is to get bright and louder tones so that i can develop some good tones. Your Nuskyns sound AMAZING but tbere is also an EXPERIENCED drumner behind the drums. Im sure I can't go wrong with either of the Fiberskyn, Nuskyn or Skyndeeps! I'm not a purist at this time but looking to get best sound. I'M also female if that makes any difference. As a reminder, i have LP Giovanni, wood Galaxy series. Thank you

Thank you so much for your help. I have been playing in a gospel church for almost 2 years. I have 3 congas tuned @ minor 3rd. each which works out because most of the melodies are usually a minor pentatonic. Could you please help me level up my playing for gospel funky music. My drum set player accents on the 2 and 4.

I added it to my list. I'm doing one video a month on funk conga rhythms in the first three months of 2021.

Hi Kevin! I can't tell and was wondering if you're using a Quinto or a Conga as your main drum here on this Funk/R&B demonstration?
@RhythmNotes Жыл бұрын
It’s a quinto
@Ponch341 Жыл бұрын
Thanks! I also moved to using a quinto as my lead when playing Funk so I can get that higher pop... Thanks also for the informative videos that you take time to share! 👍🏽👊🏽
