Please use a life line when you knit, so you don't have a problem. For now, keep working until you find the yarn over and let go of it. The side stitches will return to their normal size with no problem.

Hi there, thank you for the tutorial on this stitch; the stitch is beautiful and you make it look so simple. I would just like to ask whether it matters what type of cast on is used with this stitch. Hi Joanne! I love this knitted rib stitch. If I use this pattern to knit a cowl, do you think it would be too rigid? Also, I plan to use circular knitting needle, so I assume it's the same row after row? Thanks in advance. Best regards, Celeste

It is nice pattern thank you Joanne, do you think it is suitable for scarf?

Thanks for the video. I like the pattern v much. One question how many stitches do you cast on? Is it multiples of 3? Do you have to plus 1 so in order to start on the single knit stitch at every row?

No. It's just a multiple of 3. : k1, yo, k2tog and repeat. On both sides.

I was wondering if this stitch would work for baby blanket or afghan

Yes. Just remember to knit at least 4 stitches on the sides, so it looks "framed". Also at the beginning and at the end, about 6 or 8 rows of only knit.

how to cast this stitch off, iam wondering maybe casting off purl wise ought'a do it?
@JoannesWeb6 жыл бұрын
You bind off as if you were knitting a row. Knit one, yarn over, pass the first stitch over the yarn over, knit 2 together, pass the stitch over the last, and so on.

I am not sure what size needle to use. The yarn I am using is organic cotton (for a baby blanket) weight is considered lightweight DK blend size 3 needles suggested (those sound tiny!) - I see where you said to use larger needles but what is a good number for this stitch and this yarn weight? I am having fun following your videos and practicing - I'm not experienced on yarn weights to needle sizes....Thank you!
@JoannesWeb7 жыл бұрын
Make a swatch, 20 stitches and 10 rows) Try using size 7 US Needles. DK yarn is supposed to be a #3. I do believe it would look ok. If the stitch is too open, try with a 6.

Yes, it changes a little. Just make sure your yarn over is right before the yarn over from the last row. We will be having instructions on how to make cowls in the round, using flat stitches, very soon. We're working on it!

Hello Joanne... I know it is al lot to "re-do" a tutorial BUT... I too had this problem and it was only when I took the time to read all the reviews and replies that finally got to this . We all make mistakes :-)) BUT, can you add something at the top to let people know ..... otherwise they will be frustrated and give up. ONE second suggestion?
