Man, so glad i found this video, ive been looking at a few bikes and im seriously considering a Ribble. I also like Look and a couple of others but im leaning towards Ribble just because i think you get a lot more bike for the money. Great Video.

Good value for money and you can just upgrade to 50mm depth wheelset your good. It all comes down to your training and this bike is perfect for that. Just took this bike recently to boxhill climb for the first time I really enjoyed the climb with this bike.

Just be warned, this is not really an endurance bike, despite the name. Much closer to race geometry.

Level 5 handlebar are excellent to my experience, the only trouble is you have to be precise on how long your stem is as you cannot do any adjustments.

Thank you for the review. Where are you located? I thought you said England to the State. United States? You ride on the left so it cannot be United States. The box of your bike seems perfect, no dent or ripped open anywhere. We have similar built and height. Great to hear this bike fits well and comfortable. The only concern with purchasing this bike is not sure how it will hold up shipping from England to California. If it got damaged during shipping may not be easily exchange or return. Hi there, I’ve just received my ribble, when I put the handlebars on the level 5. Can you tell me if u get any play at all when you pull on the front break? I can’t tell if I have slight play in the from the stem or weather it’s the actual front disc that has slight play. My ribble is pretty much same spec as yours. Thanks

Been a year now training on this bike, surprisingly good. I don’t understand why Ribble take too long to deliver I’ve waited nearly 5 months on this one. For weight saving I could have gone for rim brake version but didn’t know about bike before. Not bad bike bike compare to those expensive brands.

@@igorotbaetv8946 I think its the covid thing affecting the components they have to get that is causing delays. I ordered an R872 - 105 as it seems to be a bit less aggressive and I didn't wanna spend too much on my first road (and carbon) bike as I'll be a beginner to road cycling.

michael otoole … The bikes are usually sent out mostly assembled with just the handlebars to stick on.. I picked mine up from the recently opened Ribble store in Clitheroe by requesting to do so.. it was on a plinth fully assembled and ready to go.. Cheers

Hi What do you think of Ribble so, considering getting one. They look a bit low at the front for an endurance bike. I have a dodgy back and this could be an issue for me. Just wondered how you find the bike over all .

Hi Damien, if check on the photo just after the gears checked and the closed up caption of my final setup, the cockpit is higher compare to a race bike. The front is just fine. I’ve opted for shorter stem (7cm) fits me well and I’m not stretch too much nor bend too low compare to a race bike. If you have back issue I recommend you to go for shorter stem. Hope that help. @@damiendenvir7953 Ridden the Ribble for couple of long rides (100+km) I was averaging from 20-23km with moderate effort but fitted with carbon rims. Still can achieve that with the stock mavic aksium wheelset. Mavic wheels rolls good too but little heavier, I’ll use them for winter. Been looking around for endurance bike for sometime and canyon was also on my list too but for all the top brands that comes with 105 groupset, for the price Ribble is the winner for me even adding £300 for integrated handlebar. My whole set up weighs with 2 bottle cages, garmin mount, 105 pedals and carbon wheelset is 8.7KG. Performance is excellent can keep up against a race bike.

How is the handling, weight, speed and geometry? Do you have to put in a lot of effort to go fast?

Hi Friend, geometry for is just perfect for me Ribble website also have comprehensive information and recommendation of what size is right for you. I've taken this bike for 110km ride compare to my other bike this one is very comfortable with the right bike fit. Power transfer is very good the frame is stiff enough to conquer that torque. I was averaging 121KW and 26Km/h wasn't giving too much effort. There's a little difference when fitted with 50mm depth carbon wheelset. goes faster and more aero and reduce weight by 500-600grams from The Mavic aksium wheelset that comes as a stock also rolls good and response really well on the climb too. Weighs 8.5Kg with my carbon wheelset tubeless (28C tyre) setup plus pedals (Small frame). Just add about 500-600grams give and take if fitted with the stock mavic wheelset. Over all as an endurance bike is pretty light and fast. Handling is excellent a very good all rounder bike. 105 R7020 groupset hydraulic brake is also pretty good shifting is really smooth and the braking system sharp and smooth. I think it is the best buy among brands that comes with 105 groupset and just upgrade your wheelset later.

Looking at buying this, though sadly it's not back in stock for 2 months. How much better do you think the Levek 5 integrated stem/handlebar is compared to the Level 1 standard alloy?

Hello Alex, bikes now are on high demand so ordering one might take upto 6months. Level 5 handlebar are great, all cables internal. Trouble with this one you have to know the right stem length for you as you cannot make any adjustments. Level 1 however will have the cable routed out the headset through the Downtube hole and you’ll have little bit of cable hanging about but still good. You can probably request to see the actual bike via live video call on Ribble’s site. Hope this helps.

Hi thanks for the review. The bike looks great! Can I ask what size frame you got and how tall you are? I'm interested that you went for a shorter stem as I'm considering the same. I'm 6 ft 3 in and would normally got for a 110mm stem. But this bike looks like it has a very aggressive riding position so I'm considering a 90mm stem. Is that why you decided to opt for the shorter stem - to achieve a less aggressive riding position? thanks!

Hi David thanks for watching. I'm 5'7 and recommended size for me is small, Yes I've opted for shorter stem for less aggressive position however theres a little disadvantage with shorter stem in hill climbing ( on standing position you need a little space to bend forward ) I also find having the saddle bit forward, I can exert more power so I am changing my handlebar to 10 or 11cm to offset the reach. Longer stem gives you a nice space to lean forward on a downhill to spread the weight so you can go faster. I think for your height you can go for XL size frame and probably 11cm stem. Ask ribble first before ordering and they can give you good advice regarding sizes. So far with the shorter is all good on my normal ride it is comfortable suits my cycling for fitness program. I may get a longer stem if I do want to race in the future but comfort is more important for me. I highly recommend the new 105 groupset not only they're durable but cheaper to maintain. Hi Nick thanks for watching, bike comes with mavic aksium they’re not bad - rolls well, the only issue I have, it is few hundred grams heavy. I use the mavic wheels on my mix road/gravel ride. I’m currently using 50mm depth from elite wheels (Chinese carbon wheels) little bit skeptical about this wheels, so far I’ve done 1500km and re-grease the bearings now rolling smoother. Wheels still running true and will soon change the bearings I think they put cheap grease as it gets gritty after doing 1500km. Hope this helps.

I’ve opted for black colour as It goes well with any jersey colour also most jerseys I have are blue/black colour. Happy with the stock colour could've customise for extra cost but choose the integrated handle bar upgrade instead. Red brings out the shape of the bike better though. Fantastic endurance bike really comfortable geometry.
