Thank you. I've just been reading about Charles Sharland, the young engineer who 'got the line built' according to Bill Bryson in his latest book. What a treat to see the actual journey and viaducts. Sharland died of tuberculosis aged 25 and missed seeing a train run on his line.

When so much has been written about the S & C its hard to come up with something new. Luckily here the scenery is magical, The railway fits in perfectly, it is so beatuful along the line and you have captured that beauty. I do not think people go to the S & C just to see trains they are just part of the story, and long may it be so.

Great video. Took some video at Ribblehead and Dent but weather poor -rain, low cloud and poor visibility. My aim to capture a steam train using that vantage point of Dent Head viaduct looking back to Dent Station. Scenery absolutely superb.

Dent village and Dent station are nearly five miles apart. The railway doesn't actually run through it. (Just to clear up any confusion!)

Enjoyed watching this vid. Nice shots of the viaduct. Your trains cater to fewer people and so have fewer rakes. Indian Railway trains are much longer pulling 20-odd rakes. How are the locomotives powered? I saw neither electric overhead wires nor any steam.

This overly long and boring video does no justice to Dent or Ribblehead. Endless shots of the same view, out of focus and shaky scenes through a train window, wobbly panning, all remind one of watching terrible slide shows of relative's holidays. But the two killers were the apparent lack of a tripod and the fact that they chose to pollute this wonderful countryside by going by car instead of train. (I've stayed in Dent and walked under Ribblehead viaduct.)
