My 1275 gearbox will not easily shift into reverse after it has run for a half hour, can you tell me what might be going on?

Is it possible to replace the rear seal while the gearbox is in car? The tailshaft one?

Were you hoping to keep it original? We don't rebuild the smoothcase gearboxes as the availability of parts no longer make them viable. The ribcase gearbox will bolt up to the 948's without issue and parts are plentiful. We will investigate rebuilding the smoothcase boxes with the ribcase internals sometime this year. Hopefully we'll be able to offer a robust solution to those wanting to maintain originality.
