To be clear, Sandhill cranes aren’t waterfowl. They are just fowl. You can even use lead shot.

@@SpecklebellyHQthat would be awesome!
@TheRoadto1006 сағат бұрын
@@itsmisterbojanglesyou are correct. From the scientific point of few and understanding scientific name classification cranes like heron are a “wading bird” while waterfowl are classified under ducks, geese, grebes, spoonbills, etc. All fowl species that live and spend absorbent amount of time in the water. On the non technical side of it all and with those more familiar with the unofficial NA41, Sandhill cranes have always been a part of that species checklist and because they are migratory and in almost every sense of the process are a fowl hunted in water/fields they are very easily lumped into waterfowl hunting.

I'm confused. If I listen to the intro it's about traveling the globe while hunting different species of waterfowl. But watching the episode it's only about how happy he is to be back home in Texas. From the first second on it's all about home and Texas. Not that there is much to see in Texas except a few dumped cars in the sand and then just more sand as far as you can look with some industry in the background. The world is more beautiful just about anywhere than there.
@ryanbassham22 сағат бұрын
I hear where you are coming from amigo. I’ll shed some light. We all probably remember where we first fell in love with waterfowl hunting. I grew up hunting Texas. That’s where I fell in love with it. I don’t make it home often so for that reason I was excited to be back and hunt cranes and lessers. Used to hunt them all the time but it’s been probably 10 years since I last made it to the panhandle. This is a multi year multi episode journey. If you stick with us I estimate we will take you to 20 plus countries and up and down every flyway in the US over the course of the project. Sandhill cranes are on the list and for a lot of waterfowl hunters the Texas Panhandle is a destination because of how good the hunting is there, despite it flat windy and admittedly ugly terrain 😂.
@TheRoadto10021 сағат бұрын
We don’t disagree! Just wait until our episodes come out from Alaska, South Africa, New Zealand, and many others. But in the quest for the 100, it’s inevitable, we will see the good bad and ugly. But beauty is in the eye of the beholder, it’s subjective. We were excited to go back to where it all started for us and take a trip down memory lane, Texas.

Jokes aside these people don't realize the benefits and support to the conservation of animals and wildlife habitat that people like us (and hunters in general) glady support.
