Totally agree. He had the look, size, in ring ability, promo skills, and charisma to be a top tier performer. The really sad thing is that he just got his life in order and looked much more relaxed and happier than he ever had. The wrestling business is really difficult on the performers and it takes a toll mentally and physically on them.

WCW's established stars like Flair and Savage and Hogan were drawing big ratings in early 1996, and the nWo needed these stars to be at the top of their game as they (Outsiders) dismantled and reshaped the business. So Flair played a huge Sting-like role in the development of the nWo. Asking Ric Flair if the nWo is the biggest angle ever, considering he is part of the most legendary stable ever is a weird position to put him in. Flair was there from the beginning and there when the nWo died in WCW.

It wasn't even an angle DX. The NWO angle was the question as in the invasion of the outsiders and then Hogan being the suprise 3rd member that was an angle but DX wasn't, it was just a faction that evolved as it went along

"Would it have worked without Hogan?" No... and here's why. The reason they were rolling without Hogan, was because Hogan was not around. Had he not turned they would have been built up as heels to be fed to Hogan and Savage. Just a more modern Dungeon of Doom.

Scott Hall had 1 of the basic qualities that Flair had, that other guys like Nash and Hogan did not. They would go out and do a job to any-fucking-body. Anytime. Anywhere. And they would do it because they understood that that’s what it took, and because they had what it took. And when it was over they never lost any heat. They could do the job because they were good enough to do the job. Hogan and Nash were not. The idea of being to good to do a job is backwards. You’re not to good to do a job, you’re good enough to do a job. Hall was. He was the only guy to go out and lose to Sting the first time, the right way. He was also who lost to the Steiners when in was time at Souled Out. He was who did the jobs to the top face and top tag team face. Then he did it again vs Goldberg in 1998 when Hogan couldn’t do it alone I guess. Hall was a GOAT.

Scott has repeated said how he didn’t to win to get over, reason he never held the title he didn’t need it, To him it was about the business. I agree with you on hogan, but when Nash left for WCW he let a couple guys get over on him on the way out. I think he would when it made sense.

Yea it really sucks. It really goes to show how you dont realize what you have till its gone. I was born in 1977, so I go to spend my teen years watching The Bad Guy Razor Ramon, and my early adult years watching Scott Hall in the NWO. And while I always liked him, its really only after watching so many clips of him after his passing that Im realizing just what a rare, top of the line performer we had in Scott Hall. His look, size, mic skills, selling, wrestling ability, he was just all around a super star.

Flair has always hated on the nWo. He wasn't really involved in the main storylines durning their run and I think he might be a little salty about that. Not hating on flair at all because he's one of the best ever but he always tries to talk down the nWo like they weren't as big or important as they were.
